This is a wootz blade and a beautiful one. What do you think?
 
How do those Persian swords handle? They look really blade heavy? Also, is the point good for poking holes into things/people? I've heard that they can be used to reach around things such as shields.

Anyone used one of these before? :confused:

No the sword above is wootz and very light and agile. An extreme cutter, you should hold it. It is a dream and cuts ferociously, I tried it on light targets. No not shamshirs around shields, you are probably talking about Ethipoian swords.

They are blade marks attributed to Ostad Samad, a famous smith who lived around 170 years ago as far as I remember.
