Hi...

Realistically, most are too large for my needs, but I do want to keep a decent chopper. They all seem to be such great designs and feel good in the hand.

I have nothing against choppers. From my own experience, I have found that I prefer something like a Corona Razor Tooth Pruning Saw - goes through woody stuff like a hot knife through butter. Inexpensive, light, small (13" blade), and functional.

I am now waiting on a Mud Razor- and then the "thinning of the herd" will really begin. My problem now seems to be that I like all these knives!

Well it sounds like once the Mud Razor arrives, you will be ready to thin the herd -- just stick to that plan. It's not easy, but try to decide what you want (show or use), what you can afford, what fits your hand, and if it is a user, will such and such fit the bill.

. But if you're going to have one, shouldn't it be INFI?

INFI is definitely awesome stuff. But, right now, the only INFI that I own is M-INFI in the form of a Basic 5. I may get some regular stuff, I may not; I just don't know yet. I have been looking at Busse for awhile and have had plenty of chances to get things when they were still available from Busse. Nevertheless, the way I see it is this: other than the steel, SR offers virtually everything that Busse does and at a better price. If I break a SR, then it will get replaced. But if I do break one, it'll likely be in a situation where I am going to die anyway. IMO, having INFI probably won't make the difference between life and death. And if one argues that it might make a difference, then I might counter that maybe it needs to be INFI of a certain length, or a certain thickness, and on and on. We could debate forever. But one thing is for sure: if you buy a knife to do a job, but then leave it at home because you are afraid to use it since you can't decide what you really want, then when you really need it, your knife will still be sitting at home, maybe even still in the box, and you are going to have a problem.

If you like collecting, then more power to you. There is nothing wrong with it at all. Just don't kid yourself by saying that all of your knives are users if you are in fact a collector. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the feedback on the edge. I see my knife collection going the way of my gun "collection". I have a gun for each specific need/activity and they all get shot.

I won't get caught "short-handed" in the meanwhile because I've already taken care of my folder needs!

Where do you find those saws?

Thanks- nice score on the Mole! Let us know how you like it- over there of course!

Thank you, amigo. And by now, you know the routine...she's gonna be a user!!!
