Well fellas, I took the plunge and bought the knifemaker membership.
Here's my first knife for sale. You may recall, I posted this several weeks ago, just to share. It got some good comments, so I thought I'd make it my first offering to the forums community.
4.25" forged 1095 blade
8.75" overall length
Light and thin. I think it's about 3/32" thick (thicker than 1/16, thinner than 1/8").

Hickory handle with bone bolster and buttcap.

No sheath with this one. (If that's an issue, let me know and we can figure something out.)

$70 shipped in the US... elsewhere, shipping will just be whatever it costs. I'll eat the paypal fees.

Thanks for looking!

cool congrats . nice looking blade there. . at the moment busted for xmas lol. but im glad to see new knifemakers. :)

Congratulation on your effort. What type of heat treatment have you applied on this knife? Is this of full tang or rat tail configuration?
Also, would you offer a sheath with this one? If so, then of what type?

Heat treat as follows:

Forge close to shape
Anneal
Grind to shape
Normalize 3x
Quench in warm vegetable oil
Temper at 425 for 1 hour, twice

It's a stick tang/hidden tang/rat tail.

I could make a sheath, and I prefer pouch-type sheaths, but I'm out of "proper" leather. The only leather I've got on hand right now is this "side leather" that's rough on the front and the back. I use it on knives that aren't leaving me, because it works just fine, but I understand most people don't like the look too much.

Dipped in beeswax, a sheath made of this side leather looks like this:

Thanks for looking!

I didn't see the knife before when you posted it. It looks great and I hope it sells good for you.
