Here's a little spiked hawk I've been working on for about the last week or so. Its got a 7" long head with a 3" cutting edge and one a pointy thing on the end. The head was hand forged out of 1" square 1080. Its got a 16" curly hickory haft.

sweet! Of course, I love it:yawn: What else is new?

I like that pointy thing!
That groove, too.
I don't even know what to say about that curly hickory.
You done good, Ray.

That looks fantastic. Things like these make me wish I had enough fingers to hold tongs properly  (I've tried :( )

I love it! Only thing I would worry about is the spike getting caught in a medium because of the depression behind it. Like sinking it into sheet metal or ply wood.

Geez, Ray, you're on a hawk roll. Must be the firewood season, eh? In the span a week or two hawks appearing all over the place--you, Karl, Steve, et al.

Really like this one, though the only hawks I'm into are the Seahawks. Can't decide whether I like the head or haft better. Never seen curly hickory before, but this is much better than I expected from hickory. The butt treatment is really classy in your signature, antiquity kind of style, where flow is subdued and near perfect.

Great looking spiked hawk.
We should have expected the cap on the butt.
Very Ray.

Hi Ray,

That's a beauty! I like the groove, also the antique finish on this one.

You really are busting out some incredible hawks recently, keep up the good work, BladeWest is coming ;)

Ray thats another fine Hawk. Good to see you making more Hawks. Next make a pipe Hawk.

Ray I don't know which I like better, your knives or hawks. You do both exceptionally well, and this one is a fine example of your fantastic craftsmanship!!
