I've been spending the past few months sort of "refining" my collection so to speak and I think I've reached a point where I am happy with it. I decided to sell/trade most of my lower-end knives since I really just wasn't using many of them. Almost all of that money went towards funding some higher end purchases. While my collection has dramatically downsized, I am actually happier with these few knives that I REALLY enjoy. I still have some of my less expensive knives to use as beaters (and some have sentimental value) but from now on, I think most of my purchases are going to be higher end knives only a few times a year if that. So, here is what it has all amounted to. Not a large or very diverse collection but I like it. :D

Left to right:
-Snody Economist friction folder, Strider SnG, Darrel Ralph Trigger (manual version), Emerson CQC-7V, Kershaw Tilt (#111), Hinderer XM-18 3.5"-

Lookin' good Adam! I love that that scale you did for the Snody:thumbup: That Trigger is the tits, too.

no sebenza?

EDIT - It's a work in progress I see now. Maybe later on. I've yet to get one myself. Oh and you should throw a ZT in there.

Thanks Steve and Will! I had some toxic green G10 that Ihadn't used for anything yet and figured a set would look sweet on the Snody. Hauling, I had a small Sebenza but traded it towards that DDR custom. I'm planning on getting either a large 21 or a Ti-Lock when I have the funds.

Maybe I should follow your lead. Love that Tilt.

I love the Tilt too. Wouldn't even have one though if it wasn't for Thomas W. I wish it was slightly shorter though as it really pushes the limits of legality here. As far as thinning down the collection, I haven't had any regrets whatsoever.

It's a nice collection as is by the way, didn't mean to imply it's incomplete or anything without a sebenza lol. Six is a good number too, few days with each can carry you through a month no problem.

Thanks! I figured somebody would say that anyway lol- No worries. It's certainly an (maybe THE) iconic high-end knife. I'm just trying to decide between a Sebbie or the Ti-Lock next haha. As far as carrying them, I usually have the XM on me but they all get carried.

The XM is the iconic knife imo. You got that one covered obviously, brown is my favorite scale too which obviously seems to be yours lol. As far as the sebenza, large 21 is what I want, just can't decide between insingo or no.

The XM is iconic as well, I agree. I personally much prefer it over the Sebenzas. I like the "beefier" feel and the look of it much more. My small sebenza was an Insingo and I really liked the blade shape for EDC. That was my "go-to" EDC blade for a long time.

I was leaning towards insingo and you might have just pushed me over the edge. It does seem a little more sturdy at the tip.

I'm kinda going through the same thing.. started out with a Tenacious (which I still have and love btw), but slowly started upgrading and downsizing.. I think at one point I had like 30 knives that were all under $100 and I thought "Damn, I could sell half of these and buy that ZT301 that I've drooled over and thought I'd never be able to afford".. so I did. Haven't looked back.. Just ordered my first Strider.. with my Sage2, 301, 0560, Mili, Pm2.. I think I'm getting kinda respectable..
A large 21 keeps tapping me on the shoulder.. the quest continues.......
Much love.. nice collection brother..

Thanks Matt! Bluesummers, hopefully when NYCCKS rolls around again, a new CRK will find its way into the collection. :D
13aphomet, thank you bro. I came to pretty much the same realization. I started with just selling off a couple that I really just didn't want and soon began to realize that so many of them weren't seeing much use anymore or weren't as appreciated as they once were. BTW, Congrats on your first Strider! I really like my SnG, it's a great knife. All those other knives you've got are great as well and a Sebenza would be a great addition. Then you need to track down an XM-18. :D

Hhaha.. I know man.. I def think the Hinderer is amazing.. I got the 0560 to stave off my urges so I can get some others first. That way I can be more learned when it becomes Hinderer time.. gives me something to look forward to..lol Getting a Hinderer now would be like hookin' up with the prom queen, it'd be all down-hill from there..
unless ya know, ya wanna donate the ur XM to nice guy like me...... hahha

Haha...a nice guy AND you tell good jokes! ;) "free Hinderer" bhahaha! :D
I actually had an 0561 on pre-order because I figured it'd be as close as I'd get to an XM for a while and I got lucky and wound up getting my XM before the ZT's came out. The 0560 is a sick knife though. I still may pick one up anyway haha.
