High-End Collection as of 7/15/12

I have to agree, have to go with quality over quantity. I've been downsizing and going for quality purchases myself. I thought this was just a more logical step since quality pieces are not only beautiful and rare but they also tend to hold their value way better than just your avg knife. That's my take at least.
These are some on my pieces lying around the edc tray today, hope you guys enjoy the pic.

You got a jealous guy posting right here. :o
I'm still in the BUCK, Kershaw, Benchmade, and Cold Steel (for users) phase. (not that there's anything wrong with these anyway)
What knives are the "lower end" ones that you say you use for beaters?

I love the Tilt too. Wouldn't even have one though if it wasn't for Thomas W. I wish it was slightly shorter though as it really pushes the limits of legality here. As far as thinning down the collection, I haven't had any regrets whatsoever.

What is the limit, with regards to the length of the blade, to remain legal ? Regardless of the length of the blade can they not all be deadly ?

I remember that story now, tilt #111. Hopefully your not in NYC, the cops there would love to take that think away from you. I have a SW version, but really like that all black.

Thank you all. Masterj, AWESOME selection of blades! I really like that Shirogorov. I'll have to get one someday- beautiful knives. Bladeboss, I have a Kershaw Tremor, and a Buck Vantage Force select as my two main "beaters" right now. Both are excellent knives for the money. Pete608, the blade length limit in NY is 4" so the Tilt is right at that mark. Lycosa, I'm not really into fixed blades but I have been eyeing a Team Gemini. I had a couple SR knives and really liked them but neither had INFI of course. I'm still waiting for the fabled Busse folder and if/when that happens, I'll be all over it. :D Bobsig, Manhattan is really where you have to watch out as a knife user/collector. Luckily, I don't live there so around here, it's really just an issue of blade length (and no autos of course). I like the all black Tilt too but still wish I could have gotten a SW version to go with it. ;)

Thanks for the reply!

nice collection- quality over quantity resonates with me as well. however, I'm still working on not buying something just to try it out. with the various knives out there, that's pretty much a hopeless endeavor.

That's been pretty much my problem also; there's so many nice ones out there. And that's without looking at customs.
I've got a decent collection, but they're all NIB, with lots of super-steels, and all I carry right now is the Umnumzaan. Kind of does what I want.
I'll need to break out a Paramilitary 2 one of these days. That compression lock is really very nice.

Awesome collection. I've been slimming mine down a little, but I've still got quantity with some quality mixed in. ;)

Every time I look into buying another folder, I just end up buying another Gunny. Maybe after I get my custom gunny and a Madd Maxx, I'll look into the Trigger Maze :)

I looked it up and found it interesting that the fixed blade custom gunny costs 50% more than the folding custom gunny . I would have thought that it would be the other way around , that it would cost more to make a folding knife than a fixed knife .

Thanks guys. Crimson, I highly recommend picking up a Trigger Maze. One of my favorites of all time.

Wow, I just looked up the price of that knife . Could you imagine how someone would feel if they lost it ???

p.s. It is a beautiful knife though

I would recite a very long list of expletives, that's for sure. :D It is well worth the price though IMO.
