High end flipper recommendations wanted

They look nice, I just looked at his site. A little more artsy, but I am a friend of David Broadwell, so if I went that direction, I'd be giving him a call.

Keep your money and probably buy a ZT flipper if you want a flipper. It’s typically thought to be the best affordable flipper company. $150 to$300

Id recommend a North Arm Skaha, Version 2 if you can get it, because of the wire clip and smaller flipper tab. But the first Skaha is nearly as good.

I just took my spyderco Chaparral apart, put a mirror high polish with the flex shaft on the back part of the blade that was having some friction, added a small amount of ptfe dry spray lube and now it is noticeably smoother. Me likies.

North Arm Skaha, Version 2 looks good. The 7.75" OAL is starting to get a bit long for me though.
I'm certainly not ruling it out at this point though.

I think my little Chaparral at 6.4" OAL is purrfect

The CR small inkosi is 6.5" OAL ( I just scored a mint one of these w/micarta inlay for $340 ) $475 new on Recon1 site, but sold out of course
The Shiro Neon Ultra Lite is 7.48" OAL

Its got some of the best action on a flipper south of $400-$500.

True North Knives just got an exclusive batch of Michael Zieba Manhattan flippers with AEB-L steel that would meet your requirements perfectly.
I'd have one on the way to me right now if I didn't just spend $1500 on sharp things and got in trouble. :(

Not many in the sub 3'' high end production flipper category. Check out the Giantmouse GM4, Olamic Busker, Curtiss F3 and CKF DCPT-4. For less money but great flippers, look at Kizer Guru and Kizer Feist.

I dood it,

Shirogorov Neon Ultra Lite Elmax INBOUND!

So exciting.
I had better stop now and try out everything I have inbound before playing catch and release with what I don't keep.
I am hoping I can be completely content with the Spyderco Chaparral, Shiro, and maybe the ZT 450c
Expensive week, but I think I will be able to find what I like within what I have already ordered.

So yeah, I think I'm good to go now.

Congrats dude! you will love it I promise!!!!! post pics when you get it

Yes, I will post photos.

I'm now also on the lookout for a small sebenza carbon. I think I have a virus, a self replicating high end folder collecting virus...is there a cure?

Sadly most of my high end flippers are all over 3"s.

My problem with small flippers is they are small and your fingers usually go onto the lockbar. They are good for small hands. My hands are medium and it's just a big pita. Finger flickers and thumbstuds are more my thing for smaller knives. The 940-1 is also a very nice small knife, tho Benchmade and poor qc bugs me alot it's still a nice knife as well as its variants.

You mentioned cutting sushi, I'd recommend something good at slicing, so anything very thin behind the edge. Thicker blades won't be great for slicing food in general. I mean they will cut food, just not as efficient.

The next flipper I buy, I have decided will be an Olamic Wayfarer...

Or a S.African made front flipper if I come across one at a great price that I can't resist.

Would highly recommend a Trevor Burger customs he's from s Africa and has a model that's a really good slicer and comes in n690 or m390. They show up on the exchange every now and then at good prices.

But you can't go wrong with olamic. The quality of them are superb. The busker is a pretty neat small knife with several ways to open it. I've never handled a wayford but nothing but praises from everyone that I've read about.

ZT 450 C arrived today.

We are moving the right direction. It is in a different world than my previous leek. I thought overall this is a very very well constructed knife, even though it is so light, I thought it was still well balanced, lockup it excellent, no wiggle. Excellent A+ value for the price.

Also, I learned that this is about as small a handle size as I can comfortably go on the flippers, just as member "Mo2" said. I've now experienced this advice is right one.

My wife, who is an amazing designer, thought it was a huge improvement over my leek in the quality of steel and weight, but would benefit from more chamfering on the top inside edges which are a little sharper than they should be. I told her in order to get everything chamfered, I would need to spend more money, to which she replied, "Spend whatever you have to to get a really good one, rather than have 10 medium ones." :)

I don't think she has any idea what $$$ we are talking but I've not yet had to say. At any rate, it is my toy money, so there is no potential veto.

That being said, I'll hang on to this ZT 450 until the Shiro arrives in case I don't have an orgasm just by touching it.

Little does she know a Shirogorov Neon Ultra Light Elmax is already in the mail, as well as a Chris Reeve small Inkosi and small sebenza.

I'm thinking the Inkosi or Sebenza and Shiro Neon will feel a little more comfortable in the hand and will get the "Oh, this one is good, you should keep this" response. Then all is right with the world. Heh.

If I like the Shiro Neon, I might get the lighter Hation and sell the neon, but we'll see.

If you’re interested in trying a very good front flipper for a very good price check out the kizer feist. Blade is just under 3 inches in length. I love this knife. Just make sure you get the updated version with no issues. He first version had some issues.

One of my absolute favourite sub 3 inch.
