High-End/Limited Run Kershaws

I think the Tilt was going for < $200.

Tilt's never went for below $200. Lowest price I've seen is ~$230. I'd say average price for a Tilt is ~$250. Granted, this price is going to increase as soon as they are done with the next run. Conversely, price inflation doesn't have to do with production cost. Personally, I think the Tilt may have been the most expensive to produce due to all the milling/machining, materials and K.V.T.. I could be wrong though.

For this, my guess is either the Whisper, TI Mini Cyclone, Volt, or Speedform?

Hmmm, might depend on how you define cost. IIRC, the S60V Blur ended up with a really hight reject rate, so out of the whole production only a small number made through QA (not counting the ones sold as seconds/blems)

Yeah, I was thinking which one had the largest street price when they were available.

Yeah, The Tilt may not be the most expensive in that regard. It's got to be up there though. As far as the S60V Blurs go, I think that may be the most rare/ hard to find Kershaw there is. I might be off a little, but I think there were only 15 that were not marked as blems. I've seen those sell for up to $500!

Theyre crazy rare, im sure someone on here has one though, knowing this community.
Anyone have price reference on the S110V Shallots?

Shallots in s110v were selling for about $70. I had a pe I sent back because I didn't think it had enough lockbar on the tang. I have a ce now. I never use it tho.

Oh, I expected it to be a higher number than that

Don't you guys think the Offset counts?

Anyone have (their own) pics of this one?

Here is mine with its siblings:

Damn! That's an awesome collection shot!

Thanks for the pics.......I really like that "clean" design of that one. Much less flashy than alot of Ken Onion stuff.

The Offset is one of my Kershaw grails! With the splattered scales too...that is one nice collection.

The ZDP-189 Leek, Composite ZDP-189 Shallot, and Spyker are the absolute favorites of my collection. I also found three others that I have labeled as limited editions, but I might be wrong. I'd appreciate knowing if I'm wrong. They include:

1597 G-10 Offset
Kershaw-Emerson Commander (auto), S30V plain edge
Kershaw-Emerson Commander (auto), S30V serrated edge

I know this is an old thread but I think its a good one,

Why does anyone think the Spyker is better than a Spec Bump or even a Speed Bump (besides the steel). Just asking opinions not trying to start a war.

I thought many times about getting a SpyKer, cause its rare and is a collaboration between my childhood favorite, spyderco and my current long time favorite, Kershaw.

Other than it being a rare item, the silver twill insert is cool, but I argue the 3-d machined G-10 on the Spec Bump is equally as cool. They both have the same S30V and same basic blade shape. I do like the looks of the extra holes on the SpyKer but for looks only, maybe weight savings.

I think the stud lock is a far superior feature than anything on the SpyKer. Since stud locks are discontinued now, doesn't that make them even more rare?

Its basically a watered down version of the Spec Bump with a liner lock and shorter cutting edge length, by a company with way worse customer service (in my experience), I just don't get it.

I dont understand why the Shallot S110V was so inexpensive, lack of marketing? I got my partial serrated ones for around 60 and 80. I think its worth the $135 msrp someone mentioned..

That sounds about right. My brother got one for between 65-70 NIB shipped.

Unfortunately he lost it - somehow it worked its way out of his pocket.

For one, they didn't have exotic handle materials. No Ti or CF. Just plain old Shallot SS framelocks, and they probably had enough of those laying around for future production. All they needed to do was run a separate production batch for the blades and drop them right into existing Shallot handles/hardware. Of course, they might not have been making as much of a margin as they could have on final prices.

Why choose one over the other? Both the Spec Bump and the Spyker are amazing, collectible knives. I have both and consider both to be great knives.

I do like both, but I made my choice with purchase power.

If you really could only pick one, which would it be?

RE the Shallot S110V, I am pretty sure that the blade is thicker than the normal shallots, even the zdp composite is pretty thin, I almost got one recently but decided on my first ZT, the 350 ZDP ST.

I'm not ducking your valid question, Bluejayburly, I just can't imagine a universe without both knives! I'd say the Spec Bump for actual use and the Spyker for a collectible piece of knife history. Those who don't like Kershaw might pan the Spyker, but as a fan of both Kershaw and Spyderco, it's too historic a collaboration to pass up.

Ditto on the ZT 0350 limited edition in ZDP-189! It is also my first ZT and is in the mail. I can't wait.
