High End Storage / Display Options for Collection?

I'm sure there must be some old threads here on it but I couldn't find on search. What are some nice high end storage options for your knives? I've seen velcro pouches, but you can't see inside, so it makes fondling the whole collection less fun.

I've seen pelican cases with foam, but again, you can't see the knives without taking them out.

I like the idea of the wooden Gerstner chests but I dislike the green felt. They appear to make some burgundy felt which is nicer to me personally.

I think I'd like something like a small gerstner wooden chest, that could fit into a gun safe, hold maybe 10 to 20 knives, nothing too huge, but also separates the knives in the drawers so they don't bang into each other when carrying from gun safe to table to look at and fondle the collection. My uncle is a woodworker and would help, but rather than reinvent the wheel, maybe someone else already has something similar. Thanks in advance!

I post this every time it comes up, but I really think they are damn near perfect for the use. Hard to beat the price and you can fit 12-15 per unit

A high end display case should offer some type of humidity control outside of the use of dessicant packs.

It seems like most of these old threads have people with dozens or hundreds of knives. I have less than 20 - I tend to lean more towards more expensive and fewer. So that may drive my storage, since I don't need something too large. I've been collecting for a while and tend to keep the number low. Would personally rather have one $2,000 custom than 20 $100 productions.

I respect that. I, however, would rather have the fun of looking for, finding, seeking a good price, ordering and anticipating the arrival of AND then opening the package and examining 20 $100 knives over a period of a year or so than ordering one knife, which, when it arrives, will probably not be used. :( To each his (or her) own.

I've come close to picking up one or two of those clear cases, I see them often at Ross or TJMaxx. Problem is I'd never get anything done, every time I pass the case I'd want to cop a quick feel and that'd turn into a hour or two of edge checks etc. Most of my collection resides in a nondescript DeWalt tool box.

I can confirm that the struggle is real!
