High Grit Sand Paper--Local Source

Everyone probably knows this, but if you're in a somewhat rural area like I am, higher grit paper can be tough to find. Both the big box stores and local hardware stores only carry up to 400 or 600 grit.

After much searching, I found that automotive stores carry higher grit paper for body work. The local AutoZone, for instance, has 800 and 1000 grit wet/dry paper.

Perhaps this will save someone some time.

Thanks for the suggestion--I've scoured (no pun intended) our local Home Depot, Lowes, etc. I did check Wally World, but not the automotive section.

Another good source if you live on the coast (which pretty much everyone does in the uk) is Chandlers shops or boating stores. I have one about 200 yards from my house and didnt even know they sold the stuff. They normally go up to 1200-2000 grit as its for high finishing on paint etc.
