High output flashlight

I just bought a Maelstrom S12 this Winter from 4sevens http://www.4sevens.com/product_info.php?cPath=297&products_id=2583 and it's an amazing light. It's small enough to EDC in my bag and puts out a crazy 800 lumens for 90 minutes and 120 lumens for 13 hours. They have brighter lights but this one made the most sense to me. 120 lumens is a good amount of light for all general purposes. So this thing can get you through one really bad night on low without a battery change. And in an emergency when you NEED a super bright light... it can toss out the lumens. It's the best flashlight purchase I've ever made. I bought a charger and 2 batteries when I bought it. My chick bought me 5 batteries for Valentines day... so I'm good to go LOL.

When mounted on your right shoulder strap of a back pack with a Maxpedition light holster... it makes a nice headlight for night hiking too.

A 3-D Cell Maglite and a Malkoff drop-in (on sale now for $39) is a great performer for the price. The stock smooth reflector provides great throw. Not the 800 lumens you say you need, but you might be surprised by its performance.

Mac also has a drop-in that for a Maglite that you may want to consider. Look at the Mac's Customs forum at CPF.
