One of a kind, 10 5/8" oal with 5" of sharp steel. 3/16ths 154-CM with the first ever for me flame on the blade. Sheath is OD Concealex, handles are OD/Black linen Micarta. For you my friend Duane!
Rob, that rocks! Very cool and totally unique. How do you do your stripes and flames? Doesn't look like the Strider method. Is it a selective patina or parkerization?
Kumdo, I do the stripes and flames very much like the Strider guys, I stole the idea from them! I use them with their permission and give them credit for the idea.
That is a super looking knife, and I can tell you from experience with my own Simonich knife that blade shape works great for a lot of things. Simple, clean and sweet!
Mr. Rob,
Hey bud!
That is totally &%$#$^G cool!
It's so %@#&*&%G cool I'm gonna have to throw a shot on that baby when I get her just to show her I love her!
You Rock!
And hell yes I'll be callin!
Duane
Tomorrow my ass! I already tried to call you today but NO JOY!
You were out!
Doing something wicked I hope!
I am greatful and share a quote from my good friend Pat Rogers, don't know if he made it up or not but he's the one that told it to me!
"Courage is endurance ... for one moment more."
Pals,
Duane
Rob, those flames look suspiciously like the flames on a HARLEY-DAVIDSON DYNA WIDE GLIDE. Just you wait until Willy G hears about this. There will be hell to pay!
Sorry, I just could not help myself. I thought everyone else might find this funny and wanted to share. For those of you not "in the know" H-D does try to trade mark everything H-D and/or motor cycle related.
Ahhh, got you on Willie G! Dont get me wrong, I like Harleys, just not some of the trash that rides them. I was at a biker party once and, well, lets just say I did pretty good till I ran out of 30-30 shells! ha ha
Flames like those were used on street rods back in the 50's. There's no way H-D could have a copyright on that motif. They may have their own version, but that's all.
So Rob, exactly how many 30-30 shells did you use?
7 Jerry, no time to reload after they came out from cover, I was doing pretty good with the butstock and barrel, had like three on the ground. The last thing I remember was someone hollering "LOOK OUT, HERE COMES BIG E! " Never had my ass kicked so bad in my life!
Spark, last pic of Rob's "AR 15" I saw had a selector lever problem and a DRUM MAG. I am just happy that the bikers he runs into are not my customers.
Of course I could get away with being way more "tactical" on the job. Than no one would even look twice at the JSP harness with the big Hossom fighter I love oh so much! Well that and my STREET SWEEPER. You have got to love drum mags!
