Had a chance to hike a ridge trail between 2 lakes. Nice Canadian shield trail with some decent views:

Life and death on the trail - lots of bear scat and came across this pelt - no bones - looks like Coyote to me. Any other guesses?

After reading great reviews on the Tilley's, I added an LT5 to the crew. Great in the heat:

Hope everyone had a great weekend :)

Wow, you bought a hat for your Becker? Talk about looking after your gear! :D

Where abouts is this?

Doc

Great looking area you have to play in up there. That hide looks more like deer fur to me. Easy enough to tell by feeling the hairs. Deer hair is like small hollow tubes and they will break over if you fold them. Coyote is softer and doesn't have the same characteristics. Either way, something had a good meal.

Doesn't he look good in his new hat? He beemed all afternoon :) :)

Yeah - plenty of deer - pretty thick fur. I poked it with a stick and it didn't run away.

Doc you owe me a keyboard, Land Shark lager just got sprayed all over mine!:D

Great choice on the hat, perhaps your Becker will let you wear it sometime.

Nice pics

I hope your other knives don't get jealous and start clamoring for their own hats.
