With it being around earth day, I decided to go up to a favorite local ride and clean up the trails a bit. This is a 3mi loop me and a bunch of buddies ride. Usually we do 3-4 laps and hit up a pub afterwards.

We had a recent wind storm so there was a bit of blow down on the trail. I moved along, clearing the trail, filled in some divots, and moved rocks out of the trail. It was 88 degrees today, just a gorgeous day. I was suprised but there was not much trash to clean up. I picked up a can, and some food wrappers though...

I was gonna go wet a line today, but I decided to do this instead. We are headin up to ride it tommarow evening, so I wanted to make sure it was clear, and in good condition to ride. When its too soft, riding on it really dicks up a trail system. Its fun in the mud, but its really not worth messing up the trails we are lucky enough to have. I do alot of trail maintnance during riding season, kinda pays for my use of the trails I guess....

Not many pics, but heres some for ya...

The only track I saw. Its the wild mountain biker. Native to sweet singletrack, and local watering holes...

Mayapples! One of my most favorite plants. They are very, very interesting to read about. I've not yet been brave enough to try the fruit since the rest of the plant is poisonous.

Nice pics J!

Great of you to clean up a trail, but should have wet a line......

Very cool Jake, you rock for doing that

Did you do a review on that PSKX yet?

:cool::thumbup:

No not yet.. I lost a bud to suicide a few days ago, and another friend/ fellow EMT is about to pass from Cancer, so Ive been a little preoccupied. :(

It will come as soon as stuff cools down a bit...

My exam's in June, so I should be back here lounging around W&SS soon thereafter :) However, I am going to need to make some time to meet you in person, when you come to hang out in the bay area :D

BTW, you've got a great outlook Jake .

Totally man, I would love to meet up.

Thanks, my outlook wasnt always like this. Through years of wading through human suffering and loss, its just the way I came out the other side. No need to fret on the uncontrollable.

Looks like a good time. Trail matinence is always a good thing to do. I have been trying to get into contact with the local nature reserve about trail matinence, but they are a little hard to reach.

Sorry about your pal, and your other pal. Good to see that your not dwelling on it.

Jake,

Sorry for your loss and the other things going on in your life. Prayers sent my friends. God bless.

Thanks guys.....

Barber- be persistant. I doubt they would turn down free labor.

Wow that's a great thing you are doing, Jake. I wish more people would get out and take it upon themselves to clean up the things they use on a regular basis.

That's my favorite kind of riding - Single track and what looks like little elevation change.
