Just returning from a week long field work adventure around the Kingston/Perth area of Ontario and will be posting pics of our field work in another upcoming thread.

Our base camp was at one of my buddy's/colleagues cottage. He also recently aquired a lot of 26 acres that is within 10 min drive of his cottage. After making me help him plant 24 fruit trees and build a shed, we had a great little walk around his property. Lots of wildlflowers and a few macro critters.

The trilliums are in full bloom out there this year and it is a bumper crop. They come in three colours - white, pink and deep purple. The white ones sometimes switch to a pink flower in the second year, while some flowers come up pink or purple on their first flowering.

The lot has 3 different wetland sections, two support sedges and the third one cattails (not shown)

At the back of his cottage is this great pond that leads off into a large wetland complex that can be accessed by canoe.

Damn, that's some great photography, thanks for sharing!!!

I would use that last shot for a desktop background, but unfortunately it's too small...

Excellent pics, wow. Especially the parting sunset shot, that looks so cool.

Nice pictures, Must be a useful place for knife testing, you are aware that trilliums are illegal to pick in Ontario right?

Excellent pictures, kgd. Thanks for sharing.

The 3 flowers after the purple trillium - what's the last one? I don't recognize it. The purple one with the little 'pom-pom' on the end.

Following the trilliums, the first is a common violet (blue), followed by wild columbine. Unfortunately, the third one I do not know and despite my efforts this morning couldn't identify.

Also photographed this one that I don't know.
