Oh my goodness thank you!! I tried googling "clearish white plant on forest floor". It didn't work so well.

No problem! Ghostpipe is a fascinating plant. It doesn't have chlorophyll, and seems to be closely tied to the mycelial (ie, mushrooms) network in a forest.

Great thread Cap'n! Congrats on graduating! "The woods are lovely, dark and deep".
My favorite poet....tho he was not referring to the woods of the PNW, the words seem appropriate. Those pics make me want to visit. Way different than the woods here in NH.

LOVE that poem. Actually, I took an entire special seminar class on just Robert Frost. Only 8 people in the class. It was the best!!
