That is so damn cute! The knives look great but you Zeus is such an addorable fuzzball! :)

Great pics Doc, I like that pup...he's gonna be a monster.

Hey Tex, the pup....eh... Dog looks great, thanks for sharing the hike with us ! Nice Steel you got there

You have a fine taste for quality in the things that matter....great dog, great blades, time outdoors with family and friends....life can be sweet if we let it be so.
Reminds me of the lifestyle my family gave up in Africa. Here in the UK we've just had another snowstorm! (My wife was like a kid, making snowballs and having fun. It's what you make of your circumstances, I guess.)
Thanks for sharing.

Thats a handsome dog. First pic, second post. You all look worn out , even the dog LOL.

It was a beautiful day here in Central Texas! Looks like you guys had a good time Bill. I got my son a new bike with gears (mini-mountain bike) and we went for a ride around Still House lake near Harker Heights. It was a great ride with excellent weather.

We're out in the field again this week, so I get paid to go "camping":D Thanks again for sharing Bill...we still need to link up before I ship out to Afghanistan or uncle sam moves me to some other place!

---I agree bro-Looking forward to it

I'm moving closer to lubbock this month--so we better do it soon..

Going to miss the Hill Country

:)

great pics. I really envy your collection of Siegle's. I had one I got new from Bill in trade, and my FBMLE was sharpened by him, with a swedge added and the handles smoothed.

I really wish I had kept that Siegle, but I had never had anything in 5160 before and was only looking for INFI at the time, now after using other knives in 5160 I think I should have kept it too. It was a skelly handled SAR type knife. Actually looked like a 6 inch Busse SAR with a thicker spine, and a saber grind.

Good looking dog Will! He grew a bunch in four months. I wish we had that kind of weather here...

I was raised in Chicago-

-Do not miss the Winters at all..

Thanks for the kind words about Zeus

Can you tell us more about that good looking Shipley knife? specs, source?

Google did not turn up anything for me.

GOT IT OFF ANOTHER FORUM --A GIFT FOR MY 13 YEAR OLD SON

HERE IS THE ACTUAL AD

The second knife is by a fellow named Shipley (sp). It was a black coated 5160 blade, 1/4" thick and flat ground. I liked it so much I turned it over to Robert Hankins (part time maker) to remove the coating and put scales on it. Hankins did a first rate job with the handle - really excellent, but the finish on the blade is very basic. Additionally there is some light staining on the blade. It is very sharp and if you need a big user, maybe this is for you. No sheath. It is differentially heat treated and you can just make out the temper line in at least one of the pictures. No sheath.
Close to 12 1/2" with a wide 7" blade.
$59.00 shipped.

Thanks for looking.

I GOT THE KNIFE--AND POLISHED IT UP WITH FLITZ

SHIPLEY IS NOW DRIVING TRUCKS FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND
