I looked through a quick search and didnt find an official 'Hiking Buddy' picture thread and seeing how I've just counted up what I currently have by way of Hiking Buddys - which is apparently my 2nd favorite model of Fiddleback - thought I'd start a picture thread for this beloved model.

Show off PICTURES of your Hiking Buddy(s)

My current collection.

Ironwood Burl .. and yeah, the 3/32" makes this dude one of the finest 'in hand' knives I own.

Ahh, the Hiking Buddy. It is that to me (literally) and more. Whenever I'm day hiking and going for a light load, it's the knife that comes along. In 3/32 and Bocote it's light as a feather. It's also one of my "church knives" I wear on Sundays. And it's my most carried EDC knife.

There has been flood of amazing picture threads lately. It's hard for me to get anything done anymore. :D There are some gorgeous Hiking Buddies here. I admit I have a new found desire for Box Elder after seeing Bonafide's knives throughout these threads.

It also never ceases to amaze me how Andy can take a simple piece of handle material and create such art with it. I'm not referring to the beautiful burls and exotic woods but even the micaratas and G10s become stunning pieces.

I do appreciate the quality of pics that are posted here. I just can't provide that with a cell phone. Great job everyone. Thank you!

This is an old pic, but I picked up a HB blank from Andy back when he still made them available and I put a handle on it. It's black paper micarta with black liners and stabilized maple burl.

It is amazing to see the variety of handle configurations, bolsters, spalting, grinds, steels, etc. that Andy has produced over the years. I especially like seeing the older ones. Very cool.

Here is my Hiking Buddy Duo.

What an awesome selection. Thank you all for sharing. I think the HB is a perfect size for EDC or hiking. It is versatile enough to take on general tasks, yet robust enough to get you out of a bind. Here is a CPM 154 Hiking Buddy next to a WAS O1 Bison with curly oak and canvas micarta. The spalting on both is remarkable. I couldn't ask for better tools.
