This is my first attempt to post with a pic. This was taken on the miners track on Snowdon, in Snowdonia National Park, Wales.

Millhouse, hola

I'm guessin' the image you wanted to post was this one

Note the address of that image is - http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1394/1373105706_3c40e2eb42.jpg?v=0 [you can see that by right clicking on it and looking at 'Properties']

It's the same as that of the address of the image on your Flicker page [right click & properties] That's the interesting bit. To poke it in here you just need to add image tags at each end. [Noting they are slightly different].

For your image you would sandwich the address between them so it looks like this:

Thanks for the help baldtaco-II.

Have been lurking here for a while, but this is the first time I have tried posting a picture. Am also in the middle of changing imaging hosts as well.

Very cool pic. I notice you're in shorts, but I'd imagine it was cold... Hmmm

A few more pics.

Fiddleback - That's not me. I was taking the picture. It's one of my regular hiking friends and his dog, Bonnie, a Jack Russell. It was a surprisingly warm day.

Rockywolf - It was a short daywalk, so didn't pack too much gear. Had a Lowe Alpine pack containing North Face Gore Tex jacket (rains a lot in Snowdonia), North Face soft shell jacket, food, drink, Leatherman Charge Ti, Surefire L4 with KL1 head, first aid kit, survival bivi, map and compass, and cell phone.

beautiful what are the stone foundations?

Just done a little research on the net and I think they are old dwellings used by farmers during the summer whilst tending flocks of sheep. Can't put a definitive date on them, but think they date back to the 19th century. Closer pic.

There is also the ruins of an old church nearby, used by the miners.

Beautiful and a lot of history there...thanks for sharing Millhouse and it looks like you were well prepared even if just a short day hike.

Thanks for the kind words. I never thought about posting these pics.

I always hike with excess gear as you never know what might happen. Snowdonia is a vast area with unpredictable weather. The area has a dedicated mountain search and rescue team comprised entirely of volunteers, who are often called out by people who are not equipped to be in the outdoors. Annoys me so much.

On a lighter note, here's a closeup of Bonnie. She really enjoyed the hike.

Hills ae a bit smaller but reminds me of caringorms which unfortunatly is the only place in the UK to have its own arctic weather system but on a good day like that its hard to beat IMO.

Yes, the Cairngorms mountain range is outstanding. I've not had the chance to get up there, but have seen pics and it is beautiful.

Great pics, it's nice to have a UK resident post pics on here as we don't have too many and being an ex-brit it's always good to see !!!!

Nice pics!
Someday i'm going to visit Wales, and the rest of the U.K.

My great-grandmother was originally from Carnarvon, Wales (and later moved to the Isle of Mann).
One of my aunts still corresponds with relatives in both places.
My grandmother (who lived on the Isle of Mann) met and married my grandfather during WWI.
He was in the Royal Newfoundland Naval Reserve and served all over Europe.
She moved over here just after the war.

From your pics Wales actually looks a lot like Newfoundland, minus the ruins of course!
:D

Thank you for those pics.

I've not been back to Snowdon or the Cairngorms for decades. Reminds me of my long-past youth.

A nice feeling. :thumbup::D

Hey Millhouse,

Great pictures, thanks for sharing.

You seem to be well prepared for the possible bad weather, so I'm assuming you weren't wearing shorts or you had some pants with long legs in your pack?

No, I wasn't wearing shorts. Don't have the legs for it :).

The weather in this part of the country can be very unpredictable, with lots of heavy rain. I always have a gore tex jacket and trousers in my pack regardless of the time of year.

Really enjoyed the pictures, particularly the ones of the ruins; however, since no one has commented yet on Bonnie, I have to, because I am very partial to Jack Russells.

Bonnie is a beautiful example, displaying the attentiveness & sharpness I admire in the breed.

I had to put my 16 year old "Hobe" down last September - He was a "rough-coat". I will get another.
