Himalayan Imports 15" Villager Chitlangi

Great pictures and review, thank you hollowdweller

What do you want it for????? Uses?

There are several considerations.

Just general use like:

- Choping small branches (3"-5") from the little trees outside my house.
- Having it in my car (trunk) for any emergency on road trips
- Replace a large machete
- Maybe practice a few moves
- Display
- To slay the ocassional Zombie :D

I would like it:

- Medium to large, I'm a big guy (I think around 18" to 20" is fine to me, but would help some pics on hand of one; to be sure)
- Definitely pointy (some models seem too round at the tip for me)
- Medium and smoot curvature
- Medium belly
- Handle made of horn or dark wood

As I said, I'm trying to decide between models like Chitlangi, Gelbu Special and AK... I've seen pictures of some Bura's Dui Chirria / Tin Chirria that look soo sweet also; but couldn't find them in online store.

Any advice is appreciated.

I'd say a Gelbu Special or maybe a Malla if you want pointy.

You can contact Yangdu or watch the HI forum for the DOTD. There have been a couple Tin Chirra's recently.

Both Chitlangi and Gelbu Special seems OK to my needs/taste, but I can't tell which has the most wider blade from online shop pics.

Any one have a both that can post a pic for me to compare ?

Thanks a lot, guys !

This guy???

That's the one. HD looks better than usual. By the way...who is that guy on the right next to HD? :)

I own two chitlangi's and a sirupati. The chitlangi's blade is a little bit wider than a sirupati of equal size.

Just by looking at the pics posted on HI's picture thread, I think the chitlangi has a wider blade than the gelbu, but probably not by much.

I can't recommend the chitlangi enough. It took me 20 years to find the perfect khukri (for me) and the chitlangi is it. It's wider than a Sirupati but not a big wide beast like an Ang Khola. Just right.

I'm 6'5" and I have no problem handling a 20"-25" khukri.

All my HI's are 20"+.

Good on you for passing the gift Khuk onto another owner.
Keeping the good energy flowing indeed.

You basically have to have a browser open and refresh it every couple of minutes to snag the good ones. The sharks are always circling waiting for a frenzy to ensue.
