Hate to let these beauties go but it has to be done.

First up is a pre-UB 18" Samsher by Bura. Sasital handle with white metal fittings. This one has a repaired crack in the handle. It has a nice convex edge that I believe Steve Ferguson put on it. Awesome rare model.

$150 shipped with no Paypal fees. Now WITHDRAWN.

ilbruche,

How thick is the spine on the samsher? and just to verify, is the blade 18" or is that the overall lenghth?

I know, not a chat forum but had to jump in with some more info here. This is arguably the best blade HI has ever made, there were maybe 10 or 12 made tops (and that's including the first ones by Sgt. Khadka), and it's easily worth $150 run over by a truck IMNSHO. The custom convex sharpening by Ferguson is just gravy as nobody does an edge on these like him; well unless it's Dan Koster.

I can't believe it's still here... and at this price. Must be the economy as I remember a time these lasted about 5 seconds on the DOTD. I already have one by Bura or I'd be all over it, even though I haven't bought a kukri in well over a year now.

Just a bit of additional info, these typically run about 28 oz., and the handle appears to be chandan (red chandan, or what Uncle Bill used to call "Rato Kalo Chandan" or sometimes "Raktha Chandan"), not satisal, which is the Nepalese oak wood.

Good luck to you.
