Hinderer-Busse colaboration

The Hinderer thread in the Busse forum got me thinking (always a dangerous thing)
Wouldn't it be cool if Hinderer and Busse did a special colaboration ? Busse would make the INFI blades for a special run XM-18 :D
I can always dream right...

We would finaly get our INFI folder !

Who else would buy that ?

You sir, are a bad influence.

Don't you know that your type of thinking will ultimately end in BANKRUPTCY for us ALL!!!!

Including me... I'm in. :D

I'll rent out my Busse folder for a price of course. Duccis been trying to get it since 03!

Rick's folder seems to be quite nice.

Sadly, we don't do collaborations.

No worries though. . . . someday. . . INFI will fold  :D  . . .

. . . and wait 'til you see what it folds into!!!!!!:eek:

A sheath?

This same topic came up on a Hinderer group on facebook as well. A hand ground blade by Rick, in his armored Skinner grind. Made of infi with Jerry's heat treat, and a snakeskin scale with Rick's texturing. Not like I've thought about it or anything. But like Jerry said... No collabs..... I'd still be ecstatic to put a hog in my herd of Horses. Just please make it a flipper boss!

Still hoping for a collaboration one day

I don't much understand this. I don't believe there is anything that another knifemaker can bring to the table that Jerry can't do as well or better. After all, there is a reason the folder hasn't come out from Busse and I am sure it won't until Jerry feels it is nothing less than perfection. Jerry does one thing better than anybody else in the business and that is build blades that are as tough as tanks. Therefore, if he is going to release a folder, you KNOW it is going to be the most bombproof folder on the market. I get it though.... I love a lot of other maker's knives too. When it comes to folders, I love ZT, Hinderer, Medford, and Direware. ALL of those are tanks. And I can't wait to see what Jerry has up his sleeve:D Personally, I hope when it does come out, that it has a 0.25"+ thick 3.5"+ long INFI or ELMAX blade w/ a titanium frame lock. With frame color anodizing and blade finish options. It will likely be pricey, but I would be down as long as it is sub-$1000. We will see when the time is right!

I've fully converted to Busse for all my fixed blades. Folders are a different animal all together. I would look for a titanium lockup with a replaceable contact point, options for all Ti and carbon fiber, a ceramic bearing system for flipping, some flaming and anodizing.

But just looking at all of these parts, I can see a whole new group of employees being needed to still crank out fixed blades and folders

These Folding Busses will sell out in record time. Please make many.
