If you had a choice, what would you prefer? choil for a better grip, or no choil for a longer cutting edge. Let me know why as well thanks.

I sit around and handle my XMs a lot, but I rarely cut with them. I love the way my finger fits in that forward choil, especially on the non flipper versions. I probably won't ever use it much, but considering there's still 3 inches of cutting edge left over, I'm glad it's there if I need it. My vote is choil!

Im just thinking the same thing. The choil is like the hallmark for hinderers. Just doesnt seem right without it. But the m390 is my favorite steel, only comes in no choil :/

Choil for me. Comes from years of carrying a Para 2 at work. I just like the ability to get "up close d personal" with some jobs. My only Hinderer at the moment is a non-flipper slicer and having the choil just makes it handle perfectly for me. Don't always use it, but I like having it.

Try a harpoon spanto! Those all have choils, and come in both cpm20cv and m390! Best of both worlds plus it's an awesome blade shape! Same price too!

Wow thanks no idea they had 20cv and m390 for that blade shape. considering for sure! have a 3" hinderer slicer looking to try other blade shapes. curious for the 3.5 inch and how it carry as an edc. very curious. the 3" satisfy all my needs right now ...

No choil.
Few are worthy. spyderco does some good ones. I.e. PM2. Generally I want more blade that comes close to the handle. Then I can do detail with my hand on the handle.

I vote no choil, I personally don't find it necessary to choke up on a blade that small and it just catches things when you are trying to cut quickly.

No choil, now if only they would come out with an xm-24 no choil.....
I'm with you on this one.
XM-24 slicer, no choil pleeeeease!
My favorite knife to date though is my custom ground XM-18 no choil spanto M390.
So keep the choils off of my knives. I usually just slip forward and nick my index anyway.

No choil for me, I can't tell you how hard it is to resist buying one of these for me.

I couldn't resist. I love choils, but the ones you guys just released were calling to me. My order from you guys is on the way! (Hello again from Kansas!)

I am sure they are both fine knives, but my XM-18's have always been with choil and I am fine with that. Choiless was never something I requested they do. I have other knives for that position. On the 3.5" it gives you a lot of control.
