Recommendation? Hinderer choil or no choil

I only own one Hinderer, but I went the choil route because I like the functionality as well as the aesthetics.

I like to be able to choke up on my EDC knives, and the choil is great for this sort of grip. Not every knife needs one, of course, but with the flipper and handle shape I couldn't comfortably get my thumb close to the tip on an XM without the choil. XM-18 3.5 Bowie, I wear a size L glove:

Choil all the way! I even enlarge mine just a bit cause I got big hands. Love the ability to choke up on it and do what I feel is a more controlled cut or carve..

Hinderer choils are too small for me. I have one XM18 without a choil (and one with) and it makes much more sense for me without it.

It always bugs me when companies do this. I like finger choils on some knives, particularly smaller knives, but the only thing worse than a finger choil on a big knife is an undersized finger choil on a big knife. I feel like if companies are going to put a finger choil they should to commit to it and make it big and comfy . . .

On a blade this size I don't see any reason to have a choil. If the blades were done no choil to start, you'd never even think to put the choil in the blade.

I don't really care, but I love the choil on non-flipper XMs. On flipper XMs I could take it or leave it. I find that I'll never choke up and use it with my flipper XMs...but I will all the time with the non-flippers.

No choil.
It seems useless becides aiding with sharpening. By no means would I ever put my finger in the Choil on my mp-1. Spyderco does it right. Some are saying it’s hinderer mojo or whatever but I’ve only had 3 and the first 2 where catch and release. I Love this mp-1 but they get no love for some reason. I would take either one but if giving choice no choil
