Hinderer Eklipse detent too tight?

For adjusting the detent, changing the lockbar also changes lockup/lockup security. The better option is just to press in the detent ball a (very) little. That's only going to change detent strength and nothing else.
 
Bending the lockbar is not that risky as long as you do it very slightly incrementally. But, If the detent of a new knife is too strong/tight, I would not rush to tweak things because usually it loosens up a bit after a few hundreds of opening and closing.
