Hinderer for a ship?

20CV can be made to rust. In my experience, XHP and S35VN less so.

Get what you want, if you can afford to lose it over the side (and not cry more than once) .

right on, I was thinking about bringing my 110. I use to use it on the fishing boat but when we went on deep sea trips the other fishermen/women got a little scared. not sure why. where you working for the shooner?

I was a machinist mate on a guided missle destroyer, long time ago . The Buck knives were great !

they still are!! been thinking I may have to get a 110 just to bring along haha.

that very cool, My grandfather did the same thing back in 58', hooyah Navy!

The david boye boat knife was made by a sailor's for sailors. Its a 30 year design evolution. David boye lost a family member to a boat accident where a knife could have made the difference. His knives are light, cut rope, rustless (i.e. Nou steel) and have a thin marlin spike and shackle wrench.

i did look into these & was able to get one in hand back in Dec. it was quite awkward in hand and the spike was quite difficult to open.

Thats just my first impressions of it though
