An Oldie but Goldie: For a short time, after Gen4, Rick built an XM-18 with washers and steel-insert, the so-called Gen5. If you like washers and a good detent, the Gen5 is what you are looking for.
This is a Gen5 XM-18 3.5" Working Finish Wharncliffe with 20CV blade and milled textured Working Finish Ti scale. Knife runs currently on PB washers with great action. I can add Teflon washers to the shipment if you like. Knife was sharpened, edge and tip look good to me, I tried to show in the pictures below. No box.
