Hinderer knives pivot rotation

Both the fasteners on my Hinderer XM-18 pivots along with the blade, instead of remaining stationary and the blade rotating around it like most knives.

If I tighten the pivot fasteners any more, the blade will not open. I have it where the blade is centered, and a happy medium achieved between opening ability and lack of any side-to-side blade play. But it seems that would eventually wallow out the pivot hole opening.

Do I have it slightly too tight? I'm in the hospital and don't have access to any screwdrivers. But I brought it with me to have something to admire during the two days I'll be here. :)

Put a dab of Loctite 242 (blue) on the screw threads and adjust it to your preference. If it's centered, rock solid at lock up, no blade play, you're good to go. Sometimes a pivot migh rotate (both sides) when opening or closing. It could be binding or need to be dismantled and re-lubed. It's not uncommon to be able to physically rotate the pivot though.

When you get home take it apart and look it over. Clean and relube. It might be acceptable, but I think the blade should rotate around the pivot.

Thanks guys. Turned out too much Locktite; I cleaned it yesterday and it's much better now.

It stil rotates some, but watching YouTube videos closely shows that others do a little as well.

Mine was doing this today, as previously stated, a clean and re lube of the pivot solved the issue.
Also installed the monkey edge scale I had sitting around while it was apart.
