Just picked up a special run brass liner wharnecliffe (used) and I noticed that the laser markings on the blade (both USA S35VN and the horse head) are larger than the markings on another 3" slicer that I have.

Did the size change when they switched factories? Thanks for any info!

There are some variances in the laser stuff since it began.

For instance I have a 1 of 10 (early run) production Flashpoint that has a tiny flaming horse head logo on the blade much higher than on all the other production Flashpoints.

And there are numerous other examples of laser work that differs from knife to knife as they play with the ability from time to time.

Happy to help. And others can always chime in if they believe anything I post as incorrect.

Anyway..that looks more like a Slicer than a Spearpoint to me. Just putin' it out there.

yes - I had the slicer in my pocket so i figured I would post a pic - I edited it - but not quick enough :)

N2K seems spot on. Here is my recent production 3.5 Spanto, which is different than both of the OP's. I like the small variances in things like font size, it allows each knife to be even more unique with the addition of different hardware/bling.

Smaller font and set back off the edge of the scale...
