overall its in wonderful condition though it does have some very minor carry marks
blade has never been sharpened yet its still good and sharp, as it should be

knife remains in new condition, it isn't even broken in yet
only opened and closed a handful of times

I have 2 of these
one is brand new in box as received for TAD
the other was brand new but I sent out for a special tuning, approved by josh at strider doesn't void warranty
this involves a special "patented" process and lubrication that leaves the knife with absolutely beautiful action buttery smooth with the perfect amount of friction, doesn't get much better
the knife is clean as a whistle, freshly lubed, and ready for action
it is now the smoothest production strider you will ever handle
perfect action
the other mint one has great action also but this one is perfect due to the tlc it received

due to their limited availably and general coolness factor

22. Strider SnG Green Lego with black oxide blade
this guy has seen some light use and as such has a few minor blemishes nothing major
it was recently sent out for professional sharpening, came back with an absolutely beautiful mirrored bevel and crazy sharp edge 10x sharper than anything I've ever received from strider
lock up is good and solid, centering is good
but where this knife really shines is its action
its just SO ridiculously smooth
by far the smoothest performing strider I've ever owned or handled
better than MSC hell this knife is smoother than any of my CRK's
its actually problematic
in that you'll sit and open and close it over and over again for no real reason
just the perfect amount of friction
not the least bit tight but no where near sloppy either
just perfect
but be warned
if you purchase this knife you'll ruin yourself and all your other knives
you'll find yourself muttering "why cant my ____ be this buttery smooth?!!"
my conundrum is
I dont really want to part with it BUT money doesnt grow on trees

26. Strider SMF Gunner Grip 3/4 Grind with CPM 3V

oh man this knife is a thing of beauty
and in 3V no less!!

I decided to keep the SnG version as this big black brute is a bit much for my lil girlyman hands
my loss your gain

this is a perfect specimen
no issues of any kind
ready for HARD use!

if you arent familiar with CPM 3V I urge you to check out the Crucible Data Sheet
it really is amazing steel
I believe there are a few youtube video's that demonstrate its abilities

you really can't go wrong with this combo
the double gunner grip is just friggin cool and provides superb grib
3/4 grinds are sexy Im sorry but they just are plus they make for really rugged cutters
black oxide looks damn good but really shines with use, it develops really cool character over time
look back at the others I have posted in the past as an example
finally 3V
an excellent steel that is just downright tough stuff
yet it takes an edge and holds it
no matter the task

About the SMF:®The Strider SMF was initially developed for a military unit that required a tough as nails knife in a folding package. The SMF has a full titanium frame lock that provides a stronger lock up than some fixed blades. The GG stands for "Gunner Grip" the edges of both the G-10 and titanium are sightly radiused and have a grippy texture. This makes for a slightly thinner knife sure grip when compared to a "classic" SMF. Perfect for every day carry as it makes carrying a large folder easy.

About CPM 3V: The three criteria for steels are toughness (impact), wear resistance (edge retention), and corrosion resistance and it is a balancing act between them when using a material for knives. CPM 3V has wear resistance (edge retention) that is comparable to the standard S30V. However, the toughness of CPM 3V far exceeds all of the other common blade steels (by like a factor of 3). The trade off (remember that it is a balancing act) is that it has a lower chromium content and is not as stain resistant and corrosion resistant as the S30V. Before you have a heart attack about that fact and think that it will rust by looking at it, just remember that most guns are in fact NOT stainless steel. Whole bunches of folks have been killed with M1 Garands and 1911's that were not stainless steel. CPM 3V is still an alloy steel so will not corrode like a normal carbon steel. So take care of your gear and it will take care of you. CPM 3V is THE hard use steel
