I'll assume that the customization wasn't done by Hinderer?

Not sure, was gifted this particular blade. Person I got it from doesn't have much input.
I know the handle nut is a Steel Flame Crusader Cross available as an accessory on Hinderers website.

Well given the unknown history and that the warrantee may be void I'd guess less than a new example.

You feel relatively confident the mods weren't done by Rick or someone affiliated to him..?
Have an email with pics that just went out to tech support at Hinderer.

Fairly confident but I'm no Hinderer expert.

I don't believe Hinderer does any Mods/pimping. They do custom & they do production.

Rick verified its authentic but has no idea who modded it it seems. Wonder what it's actually worth..? Can't even find what unmolested double Ti scaled models go for from dealers on line.

search-full ti Hinderer XM-18 to get an idea of the price ranges & what is offered for the price

I'm no expert but I've never seen a double ti sold buy a dealer. Usually G10
If I had too guess knife would be $425. Smooth TI scale $200. Crusader cross $150 plus mods
Only problem I see is knife would have no warrantee due to the mods. The crusader you can get the $150 for but the knife
Is only worth what someone is willing to pay as it is not a custom just a modded knife and Hinderers aren't as rare as they used to be, they are $325 on the secondary market usually for a new one. Hope this helps

I am also pretty confident that that customization was NOT done by Hinderer.

Yes, Hinderer has done all Ti. XM-18's, in the past.

Personally, the work done on it looks very similar to the modifications that Phantom Steelworks has done on quite a few blades. Not saying it is by him, just giving input that it looks very much like his work.

Knowing the history behind the work is fairly important. If it is done by someone they know and respect, it will sell better and for more than if it was done by Joe the pimper even if Joes work is good.

I'll check with Phantom Steelworks and find out if it's his work. Appreciate the input and leads, thanks fellas.

I will not give input as to the value but do want to state that the new Hinderer Warranty would most definitely cover this knife unless they did something to effect the lock face or the detent. For those that do not know Hinderer changed their warranty on modifications several months ago!

P.S.

OP-Good looking Hinderer!

I noticed that on the Hinderer website earlier today. Thanks for the props whitty, a bit less bleak than the other accounts 😊

Based on the state of the collapsed Hinderer market I'd say the classic "I need about tree fiddy" probably applies here. Maybe a bit more to someone that loves the mods, though.

You may want to mention that the warranty is still good in your ad and reference the text at the bottom of the ad( so it is very clear what is and isn't covered in mods). Many will think it is void (and price accordingly)and the sticky in the BF Hinderer archive pre-dates the change. It was a pretty dramatic reversal of policy on their part.
