Finally Summer has arrived in the great North East (Pocono Mountains) elevation 1800 feet, the Snow caps have melted.
I have broken out the shorts (warning to All) the 24 and the XM18 3.5 both would pull my shorts down (warning x2)
I will not, can not, want not be without my trusty Hinderer So, want is a boy to do?
Answer: XM 18 3" slicer  What a great EDC period. but, for summer -

Went for a walk with "Pete" in shorts and the knife. No "wardrobe malfunctions".

Love the pup and the slicer! Orange scale and flipper make it an awesome smaller EDC.

& Dude, get a belt for the shorts; and leave wardrobe malfunctions to the d, c and b list celebs. :D

Pete just loves to walk (Everyday) God bless his simple needs. Summer time, just can't see wearing Big Boy pants not on a walk. We go thru the woods, down the road, back to the creek. Got my hands full and can't be worrying about droppin' trou'. Pete would seize on the opportunity and off he would be to see "Daisy" (His Girlfriend)
The 3" is just the ticket for summer apparel and quite a nice EDC at that especially in Orange slicer form. Nice Nice piece.
Wasn't sure at first but if the years and gray hair have taught me anything it is just wait, wait about two(2) weeks before any impression (first or last) is a lasting one.
Hey, it was a Hinderer - Big surprise that I liked it.

FYI- Pete is a Rhodesian Ridgeback rescue, prior owner beat the shit out of him. All my animal buds are rescues Pete,Sam and George. Hell, I am a rescue too I guess. Who knows.
Pete will do battle with the 800 lb. Bear but show dissappointment and he will pee himself. Needless to say, I try to encourage as much as possible.
Chipmunk scared him pretty bad yesterday but once the chippy left, Pete recouped and looked pretty fierce in order to save face. I told him it was OK they scare me too :)
He enjoyed the rest of his walk.

Lighter clothing = lighter gear. I get it. Like swapping the 19 for the 26 as over shirts get closet time and t shirts take primary duties. A 3" 18 is an awesome companion. Perhaps not as faithful as Pete, but certainly no slouch in any way.

It's funny to watch the reaction to those who are familiar with my "normal" EDC which is the 3.5" XM. Hand the 3" to them and they look at it and say, "Wow it's .....so small.....wait, it's like the perfect normal size, it's like a normal size knife. Wow cool"
They search for words because of what they had come to know as the "normal" size Hinderer (never seen a 24:eek: obviously. That would be fun)
Anywho, the 3" is going to see a lot of pocket time in the half-pants season. When the leaves turn, I know there will be a transformation more than just seasonal.

Congrats on another addition to your herd! I'm hoping to get a 3" next. Enjoy it and use it in good health!

I believe this is your first orange. Once you get a Hinderer in orange you start to want everything you own in orange. Thank God 5.11 doesn't make orange Tac-lites.

Just got my first - a 3"
While I am loving it - it looks like I may need to prepare for fall (3.5) and winter (xm-24)

Yes, once Orange one gains an appreciation for not only Orange but, Blue and Pond Scum Green and Yellow. I used to be a "Black" only guy and then the World opened before my eyes.

Yes, the stable calls out for ALL three(3) sizes. Many unenlightened (wives) simply do not possess the requisite understanding of the complexity in the universe governing the correct knife collection. IF Hinderer made an "XM between and betwixt size" XM BB, that would be a must as well.

Are you suggesting a 3 1/4", 3 3/4", a 4 1/4", 4 1/2" and a 5" (XM 25)? :eek::eek::thumbup:

Can you imagine! What a World with so much Hinderer goodness! What would be next feety pajamas and ice cream. How could one survive with so much happiness :p

Yep, somewhere on the backside in the future!

I'm staring at my XM after seeing yours, I need the therapy.

Come on over Jay, second Tuesday and third Thursday every month that starts with a "J" or an "M".

We start by saying, Hi my name is (state your name) and I am a Hinderaholic".

(response) "Hi (your name)"

Then we drink lots of Beer and show off our knives. Good times.
