Hinderer's and Cold Weather Gear

Full confession- I love cold weather and winter. It probably has to do with growing up and living in Texas where I see way too little of it. I have a closet full of jackets, I keep coveralls in my truck, and even own (though I pretty much never wear them) Sorel boots. All of this in place that never pretty much never drops below 20 degrees. I try to find any outdoor "chores" I can do anytime it's cold just to try and put some of my stuff to use. I'm super excited that this weekend it's suppose to snow and sleet, and think I may have to use this opportunity to go beaver hunting to take care of a little critter that is damming up our creek. In honor of winter and wintery weather, let's see you Hinderer's paired with your favorite cold weather stuff!

I feel like the abundance of North Face is probably a dead giveaway that I don't really live in the cold. It's sort of convenient since places vaguely near where I live actually sell it. I've been looking at some of TAD's jackets and Arc'teryx, but it is sort of ludicrous to keep buying jackets (though I'll do it anyway).

No cold weather gear in the pic here but I snapped a poorly lit shot of my slicer on some snow for you! It looks like a dlc in this pic! Living in Minnesota the winters get a little long but we manage:)

Snow is good! I'm lucky to see more than just a light frosting of snow once or twice per winter, so snow like that is a treat.

Awesome stuff!

Wowcoop, your jacket is pretty awesome. I'm sure with national ski patrol you've seen some crazy situations where all of the cold toys I like so much are actually really useful. I just try not to break a sweat by using too many of mine unnecessarily by contrast sadly. I've actually thought about ordering an orange scale for any time I might be taking my XM some place where it could get lost or fall out of my pocket.

Johnny, still such an awesome XM with the boonie bead and pond scum. I think that elicits a lot of jealousy around here from a lot of us. Also, they should probably send you a thank you note from the ranch. I think I need to buy roughly 40 more Hinderer beads so I can attach them to every zipper I can find. Somehow or another I never really thought of doing that, but it is kind of awesome.

Extra stout. That spearpoint is stunning. Look at the grind Rick put on that thing! So cool. Looks great with the smooth cf too.

NJHart, I have a couple of pics for you. Unfortunately no Hinderer content, nor gear but still appropriate to the cold weather theme. The first is a screen shot of what our weather is in Saint Paul, MN. We are sending some of this cold your way:) Second is of a "Sundog". It has happened each of the last two days. The ice crystals in the air are creating a rainbow effect. It is actually like a halo around the entire sun. Unfortunately the picture is through the window in my 6th floor office and therefore isn't as clear as I wish it was. Enjoy;)

Cold weather gear? You mean long pants? I think I own 2 pair. :D

This!

Even when it's at freezing (as long as the wind isn't too strong). I find that the jackets get shed after a short period of work unless they are absolutely essential to the tasks at hand.

I used to do that but I got in trouble. Out working in the front yard splitting wood or whatever, get heated up and off came the pants.
Cops come....
Apparently the lack of underwear was an issue for some of the cars driving by (or the drivers, I dunno) anyway...
Now I just get over-heated :o

That hurts just looking at that.
