Does anyone know where I can find general information and pictures of common knives used in the US from around 1700-1900? I'm interested in trying my hand at a few reproductions but haven't had much luck finding websites or publications on the subject.

Hello,

I think the Randall collection has some reproductions. Maybe you can get some inspiration there. From 1700-1900 he?
I think you people only used european blade-styles then; especially in the beginning of that time.
If you want to talk to a nice guy who know more about historical blades, do a search for Achim wirtz, he's a german, but speaks English just like me (belgian). He's a really nice guy. Probably knows more about the subject then me.
