I wish we had some specs as far as length and width and thickness of blade.... I have one similiar that's about 12" OAL with a 8 3/4" blade that is about 1/4" thick. It is .240 thick at the bolster.
It has the punched scroll work engraving in the same places that appears to be the smae. Mine doesn't have the what appears to be file work or jimping along the top of the blade. The same punch was used on the other side to spell out India.
So.... If it is like mine I would say it is an Indian tourist Kukri.
I took mine to the grinder the other night and checked the steel. I got some nice sparkley stars and thought what the heck,I can't hurt it.
I heated it up once, but didn't get it hot enough,so I did it again today and got it hot enough to lose its magnetism and put it under the water slowly along the edge first. It isn't quite I how I would like it,but it is better than it was. When I can get to my cousins one of these days I will get it to the proper heat all along the blade and try it again. I think it may actually come out okay. I know the file doesn't cut it near as well now as it did. Of course I have to clean the color off of the blade now,but it will work until a better one comes long.
(the AM. Indin that cain't leave well enough alone.

The karda and chakma are exactly the same as mine and that is what really makes me think that it is the same kind as mine.I don't even remember where I got it or how long ago it was. I have one of those great big ones to that is about the same way.It isn't stamped India on it though.
The strange thng is that they both appear to have handles similiar to the Napali ones. Are the handles similiar like that between the countries?
