I'm considering HK 14205 (when they are available :)) so I'd like to see some pics of the knife and your experience with it (or 14200 version).

Also some size comparision would be nice (e.g. with BM Gravitator, Spyderco Military, Police) - mainly handle thickness.

Thanks.

They are flawless perfection in folding knives and in my opinion the best knife BenchMade currently offers. Buy either one you won't regret it. I've had a 14200 for a good long while. Smoothest knife you'll ever own.

I'm in for a 14205 once they hit the open market for less than full retail. I've had a 14210 which is the smaller version of both and its also as well built and perfectly balanced. Its also silky smooth for function. These are some of the best I've tested for consistancy of the quality of the work, the fit of the parts, the strength and balance of the total system and anything else I look at before passing judgement on a folding knife. Everything comes together as well as anyone could ask in all three, the 14200, 205 and 210. Well, in all honesty I have not seen the 205 yet so it is a bit of a leap in faith, but based on the evaluations of other HK models I've done I think its a safe bet that the 205 will not let us down.

For what its worth they also take a Wave mod quite nicely.

The 14200 is a bit thick. But the handle is nice, and very grippy. The bolstered look gives it a touch of class.

14200=fantastic!

I too want a 14205 and am waiting for them to hit the market....I agree, best Benchmade and maybe hard to beat anywhere at twice the price...

I'm going to jump on a 14205 as soon as they are available. It looks like the perfect knife for someone who demands a comfortable four-finger grip. The G10 edges look oh so wonderfully rounded. I just wish it had a butterfly logo.

Thanks for replies, one additional question: what would you pick 710 or 14205?

(I'm not too fond of D2, but I guess I could live with it)

The 142xx series are great knifes, and great values.
I have several, and will get the 14205 when it comes out.

I know the 710 has a lot of fans but its never done a thing for me personally. I like all the HK 14 series knives. My favorite and most frequently carried BenchMade is the 14210 HK29. I have it in plain edge and its just gotten smoother since getting it if you can believe that.

I have one of these moded by STR - it is one of my favorite knives. The only thing i didn't like about them was the rubber on the handle, but STR replaced it with micarta.

Oh yeah. I've done two of those now one red and one black. Waved, in either bead blasted Red Linen Micarta scales or the other was bead blasted black canvas Micarta and both had bead blasted clips and all screws. They turn out to be pretty sweet. BenchMade pretty much is doing one just like the black one in their HK14205 except theirs is G10. Guess it was good idea.

Very nice STR. That one looks like it is ready for one of your foldover deep-carry clips.:thumbup:
