Ho ho man, this sucks (cracked 2011 rendezvous whaler and repair)

Could be worse could be better I suppose. Here are a couple photos from before the break, photos of the break before the repair are at the beginning of the thread.

Looks pretty darned good to me! I'd happily trade you my Ironwood Whaler ;) (That was in the spirit of fun)

But seriously, it looks like a good fix, and as someone who really likes to use their knives, I kind of have to view this as a blessing in disguise. The crack is no longer a functional problem, but now it might get pocket time. From safe queen to one of the coolest users around.

Good looking job on the repair. I'm disappointed GEC did not at least offer some type of compensation for the loss. Treating a customer in such a way impairs my respect for the company. Sounds like they could use some bigger britches.

I can’t disagree with that (being a blessing in disguise) I think all my other knives are users except two that I just got. With this one though I felt some kind of weird obligation to not use it since it seemed to be a kind of special one, I felt like I had to keep it nice for the next owner, but always wanted to use and carry it. Now it’s in my pocket waiting to get sharpened and used. Thanks for the compliment.

Nice work. I would save that one.
Thank you. I think I will for a while at least.
J jsdistin very nice repair, well done
Thank you.

Also thank you @glennbad for the advice and answering several questions.
