No, that I like, but yes some said hot spot. The ramp where the flipper tab sits gets in the way when deploying, and the shape of the knife was not comfortable to use for some.

I'd say get one to at least see, I may still get one down the road.

Hoback knives have terrible resale value, FYI.
I noticed this as well and it’s always made me steer clear of trying one, and when they do pop up on the secondary market it isn’t often.

If you’ve owned on, how are they? I remember hobacks being popular in the 2012/2014 hinderer craze era and haven’t seen hardly anyone talking about them or using one since.

I had a Kwaiback quite some time ago, got it at Monkey Edge in Mesa, AZ. They had a bunch of Hobacks for sale and I handled a bunch of them. Nice knives, but very Medford-ish if you ask me. They are very heavy and aren’t exactly the most practical knives.

I concur with this, used to have a Kwaiback and an A8 slimline. I bought them new both for $1800 pesos CAD and ultimately resold them virtually new for a grand total $800 for both and thats months of trying…. Terrible resell value.
Goodness that's rough!

I noticed a lot of midtech or custom knives end up having horrible resale. What's popular now in the midtech/custom world rarely stays popular and a few years later your going to loose money. That's why I've stopped buying customs and exclusively buy production knives with the most expensive being CRK/Hinderer/Strider.

Three things immediately stand out:

1. The 0.156" blade stock seems arbitrarily thick. Sure, thickness adds to strength but you've got to consider the form factor and philosophy of use here. This is a relatively small EDC knife. Is there any activity where that thickness is actually going to contribute anything? Most of the time, it'll just mean extra weight and a wider wedge to drag through materials. The swedge might help a little but it also means an uncomfortably thin line against your thumb if pressing further up the spine.

2. That handle tapers down a lot towards the pinky end. Aside from reinforcing point 1 above, is that going to be comfortable for regular use?

3. The clip looks pretty shallow. I don't like that much above the pocket line for regular EDC.

I've looked at the Enoch with some interest, I think the handle is the biggest turn off but there's still something I like about it. Size and blade profile.. and for the price (us made) it isn't all that pricey. You'll never know till you try..

I have a Kwaiback and it's just as robust as an xm-24 though "slimmer" in overall profile, open and closed, still thick though. It's not cheap and not for everyone. All my knives (folders) are tools first and foremost, the Kwaiback feels the most weapon-like in my hand, even over the xm-24.

Well, I finally did it. I found a brand new Enoch for $195.00. Everywhere else they’re $255.00. I bit hard….it’s from a well respected dealer.
