How would one determine the steel type used in the Hobbit Warrior? I am interested in buying one and the seller informed that the previous owner said the knife was ATS34.

Were the knives marked ATS34?

You need a magnet. The ATS-34 Guards are non magnetic the 1095 are magnetic.The next run of Hobbit Warriors will be D-2
