That's an excellent set. My guess is that it's quite old, perhaps 1920s.

Hopefully, Mr. Levine will be along shortly to have a look.

Wow! They are just fantastic.Did everyone notice the latch is manila style which you rarely see.
Does anyone remember the comic scene in the movie Tombstone-when the villian shows off his gun twirling ability then Doc Holliday does it with a little cup to mock him? Well along that line picture someone challenging someone in balisong twirling, say someone like Clay who we acknowledge as top. Clay responds by twirling the "balisong spoon". It might make a good skit on film.

What seems to be the problem officer?
Get against the wall!

Ah hah! One of those evil Ninja Knives!
uhhm, its called a balisong...
shut up, I could get you locked up for... what the fook? A spoon????!!

The knife is clearly a Manila latch, but what about that fork? Is that a Manila or a Batangas? And you really can't tell about the spoon.

I've been thinking about doing this same thing with a screwdriver.

Think about it, you could carry it with no legal problem, practice your Balisong routines in public without worry, and always have a trusty tool with you.

There could even be interchangable tips that could store in the handles (phillips and regular driver, Torx bits, or small sockets)

getting 'em open
is half the fun!

Concerning the latch on the spoon and fork-I guess it depends which side of the spoon is sharpened. The fork is clearly a weehawk style fork.

Actually, in New York the most common weapons arrest is for carrying sharpened screwdrivers. So screwdriver-flathead balisongs might not work but a phillips-head, might.

Being as I collect unusual balisongs, mind if I ask what you "picked" that set up for?

Great score by the way, where did you ever come across such a find?
