So am I the first?!
Since I knew I wasn't selling this, and I don't like safe queens, I thought I'd brave the elements and put the HOG-ASH to work. I pretty much wore myself out trying to put a beating on the knife. I went through and split a bunch of 4x4 pieces of wood I had in the basement.... That didn't do anything. I then attempted to disassemble an old coffee table, but the ASH just laughed at it. I started stabbing and prying some pressure treated wood, and all it did was wear the coating on the tip.
I was getting mad because I wanted to show off some good wear and tear, but nothing was leaving much of a mark! This muddy coating is pretty tough stuff. Well, I was getting tired. I must've swung the thing about 200 times and it ain't no light knife. I decided to chop up some radial tires I had in the shed.
That finally made it's mark after cutting/chopping through the outside of the tire and through the metal radial threads. It left it's mark, but nothing really damaging at all. The edge is just rolled in a bunch of spots. I'll steel it out later and post some pics.
All in all, the HOG-ASH has my name on it, so it better be tough!!
It passed as far as I'm concerned.
Now I just need to go find that cinder block...................
