I was just curious, if any of you do or were to,go on a hog hunt with dogs or what not and had to use a knife to dispatch the beast, what Becker would you use if a Becker at all? I personally would use a BK13 lol might take a while but I like a good challenge

i'd want length + penetration. So a BK9 modded like the one in "BK Bowieeeeeeeee" thread would be my choice.

I know a guy who only kills hogs with a Cold Steel Boar Spear. he uses Pittbulls with lil kevlar(?? I think they're made of kevlar) vests as catch-dogs.

there's a Camillus BK9 factory modifiled with a sharpened swedge, called the HH for "hog hunter", not terribly rare, i don't own one :) but there we are.

the BK5 SHOULD be manly enough to dispatch a piggy... nearly perfect...

otherwise, i would recommend the KaBar Johnson Bacon Maker - made for hog stabbing, i also don't have one, but i will soonish. bound to be collectible too. i so declare.

or perhaps the KaBar zombie stabby: Death Dagger

both are purpose driven stabby stabbies :)

You rang?

I've never been hog hunting, but as soon as someone sends me an invitation, I'm breaking out that BK-9HH.

I was going to say the 9, then I saw this sharpened swedge one. That's awesome. The 7 would work great too, just as it is. If we're talking Beckers.

Your invited. I been talking to Steve Johnson and Adam Francis about us getting a wild hog for the Spring Gathering. Not sure if we want it killed where we find it, or bring it back to Ethan's, put it in the pen, and see who wants to go in and stab it.

One way or another, its gonna get stabbed to death.

Mmmmmmm, bacon tastes good.

I'd use the Baconmaker. I know I said I don't like those handles, but that was for CHOPPING. Stabbing pigs it would be fine.

I think the BK5 would be an excellent pig sticker. Of all of the Becker lineup, I think I would choose the 5 for a hog hunt!

Take the brute, you can brain it with the flat then take your time poking it without all the running around.

I'm going on a hog hunting trip in a few weeks. We're not using dogs but I will have my BK2 on my belt while traipsing after the porkers. The BK9HH looks like a sweet hog slicer.

that HH looks fit to slice boss hog in half with one poke

I'll try an catch one tomorrow so you guys can watch the video................. last group we caught were not happy after they watched the first of the group take a 22mag to the ear. I did not know hogs could jump that high.

I've been a couple of times and we always use catch dogs and knives. Go with a BK-7 it's pointier for easy stabbing and still has enough blade to reach vital organs even on a big boar.
