OK guys,
Yesterday, I started getting really sick (nauseated) and feversish...the pain got really bad...I couldn't go to my machine tool class...my wife got me a dentist's appointment for me to just show up when I could in the morning...
I slept about an hour last night...the pain spread to my lower jaw...
I was so sick I was worried that I could not drive to the dentist office ...I am taking care of my son while my wife works...the dentist called to ask where I was...so I gutted it out and went for an x-ray....
they told me the tooth...in front of the tooth they extracted had a huge area of decay...hence the new infection and that the infection has spread to my aural canal..I think that means "ear"...
they said I need root canal on the new tooth..."right now"...or it will need to be extracted as well...
I am sitting here staring at my phone waiting for the call to tell me when to go to the endodontist's office for the root canal...my poor little boy is bored...and scared and wants me to play....
but I am trying to beat the fever chills...
and trying not to puke...
(note to self...and to anybody who is reading this. One of the most overlooked parts of ANYBODY'S DAY pack for going walk-about is the first aid kit...very few of the folks who have a hunting pack/BOB/EOTWAWKI Supplies have medical knowledge, and/or the supplies to deal with.....DENTAL emergencies/including extractions...IV solutions...Emergency O2...or anything more than band-aids and aspiring...infection relief/anti-bios or serious pain relief....)
If this episode had occurred when I was a 2 day hike into the woods...my wife might be faced with trying to walk out to secure medical attention for me...READ: Not cool. I would have to try to stay warm and avoid exposure while she tries to hurry/avoid exhaustion/injury while crossing a great distance safely.
My mind is running too fast right now. Gonna go sit on the couch with my PBB...in my house...my kids call it...the Personal Barf Bucket.
Keep up the fight for the MUK boys!
MUK!
