I am curious as to what music my fellow forum members listen to- before bed, on the way to work, when handling a sweet blade, just whenever. There is no specific format, just what do you like best? Band, song, whatever! List as many or as little as you like!

I'll go first, since I am a musician (in my free time, anyway:D), I have a special love for music- but really there so much that I do like, I really wont bother to post it all here. So here are a few, in more or less preferred top to bottom:

"The Moon And Antarctica" and all previous albums, rarities, and B-sides by Modest Mouse.

"Sharpen Your Teeth" and all other unreleased songs by Ugly Casanova.

I especially like "Today", by The Smashing Pumpkins, as it is connected to some very strong personal experiences and emotions (mostly negative, but still). Also The Smashing Pumpkins "Greatest Hits" and "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness". 1979 is really good too.

The Smiths "Meat Is Murder" and "The Queen Is Dead", especially "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now", "Suffer Little Children", "Still Ill", and "I Know Its Over". "Unloveable" is another classic.

Morrissey's "Sweetie Pie" and the entire "Swords" album.

Echo and the Bunnymen "The Cutter", "The Killing Moon", "Ocean Rain", "Its Alright", and "Gone, Gone, Gone". Very good band.

Menomena "Rotten Hell", "Evil Bee" and others.

Radiohead "OK Computer". VERY good album! I especially like "Karma Police", "Climbing Up The Walls", and "No Surprises".

Plastiq Phantom "Fly" and "492 Teacups to China".

Califone "South Of Heaven", "Bottles and Bones", the entire "Quicksand and Cradlesnakes" album.

Holopaw "Curious", "Boys on Motorbikes", and others.

Red, Red Meat "Chain Chain Chain" and others.

764-HERO. I like many of their songs, but my favorite is the 14 minute long nighmare spectacular entitled "Whenever You See Fit" when they teamed up with Modest Mouse.

The top 4 albums, IMO:

The Moon And Antarctica

Building Nothing Out Of Something

Sharpen Your Teeth

The Lonesome Crowded West

The top 4 songs, IMO:

Barnacles

Workin' On Leavin' The Livin'

Today

Suffer Little Children

I left out so much stuff I feel dirty, but oh well :D;)

Classic rock and old country (most newer country IMO :thumbdn: but there is some newer rock that is okay)

Zeppelin, AC/DC, Seger, Pink Floyd, Sammy Kershaw, Waylon Jennings, etc.

Haha, I was going to mention Led Zep but I thought my list was long enough as it was :D:thumbup:

Modest Mouse is good and Ugly Casanova was genius. Radiohead is one of my all time favorites.
I couldn't put my tastes into several songs. My scope is just too broad.
Right now I have been listening to Christian artists Chris Tomlin, Anberlin and Tenth Avenue North with one fave song of this genre by Shawn McDonald called "Gravity". On the secular front my taste gets way more diverse. Lately it is Manchester Orchesta, David Garrett's version of "Smells like teen spirit", Seether, Springsteen, Hank III and the soundtrack to "The good, the bad and the ugly".

Evanescence, Amy Lee is probably my favorite singer.

Then I listen to different stuff. Eminem, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Metallica, stuff along those lines. :)

All That Remains, Tool, In This Moment, Killswitch, Metallica, Rise Against, The Agonist, Stone Sour, Ashes Divide, Avenged Sevenfold, In Flames are some of my go-to bands. I also like more mellow bands, some rap/hip-hop and pop (you all know you want to break out into song when LadyGaGa comes on :-P )

Seen a few others I like, TOOL is tops, my fav. from them is H. Very melodic/hypnotic. Cool to see someone here recognized Ugly Casanova. I am actually surprised.

I doubt you guys can recognize any of the others, though ;)

Nice! Any Lamb of God in there? I too am a metal head. Mostly the classic era up through Metallica, Anthrax and Suicidal as well as some newer bardcore metal like Lamb of God and Dillinger.

Yeah, I like Lamb of God but it has been awhile since they've had a new album. I saw them back when they were still Burn the Priest at Milwaukee Metalfest 13--so I am a long time fan. Suicidal Tendencies is one of my all time favorites.

Wow! I listened to Miles Davis while driving through the Rockies earlier this year. I love the Bitches Brew sessions.

I'll usually listen to a new releasse that I like for 6-8 months and then move onto something else. 18 month old albums get very little rotation, I'm waiting on the next one.
