this is my duty gun, which has had these busse black micarta grips on it for a few months:

they are discolored a bit, which i think gives them character. ive received several compliments on the color and texture of these.

so, do i leave em on? or switch to these simonich gunner g10's:

or my snakeskins, which i sanded. they had been on the gun for about a year, and the colors were all faded out and some of the threads were beginning to show.

whatcha all think????

i switched the snakeskins out for the blk micartas before i started carrying the gun. figured they would draw less attention.

here's a brighter pic, hopefully gives a better idea of the colors on the busse grips.

# 1 and #3 are without question the nicest and thats not being prejudice.

The top goes with everything.

The snakeskin is sinister:cool:

but if your matching to the blk g-10 skinner...then #2 buffalo g-10 grips match tht knife the best.

Unfortunately its true:(

KEEp em ALL! for different season:D:eek:

I like the blk micarta personally. I would say the Simonich then the snakeskins after that. Nice bind to be in there though.

no, just gratuitous new busse content. actually, i think they are blk paper.

Mark,

Just pack the gun and grips up and send them to me. I will do some testing and get back to you. :D

I like the black for a duty gun.

I would go with the black, but may have stayed with the snakes I had if they had been cut for a magwell.

Here are the VZs I use today, wish Stabber would sell me that PBF that matches these grips... :)

the blk micarta or gunners?

i'd send it, but then id have to switch back to my glock.

good gun, but nothing like a good ole jmb 1911.

rat, that's one reason i like the gunners. flat bottomed, i am planning on putting a mag well on soon.

both busse sets are beveled.

and those vz's are awesome!!!! are they textured or smooth? difficult to tell.

i LIKE THE SNAKE SKINS AND THE BLACK BEST . iF YOU DESIDE TO GET RID OF ANY PLEASE LET ME KNOW GERRY.

Simonich first, snake skin last. I agree about not trying to be too fancy, or draw too much attention to yourself, with a duty gun. If you carried a fancy looking nickel-plated engraved show piece, I think most people would automatically presume that you were more about show than actually being able to shoot well. You don't need that battle.

Just curious--do you know if you shoot better with any of the grips over any of the others? If so, those grips, whichever ones they are, are what I would go with if I were you. :)

Thanks!

They are textured, easy to grab fore/aft - no way to pull out top to bottom, if that makes sense? (easy to slide palm onto grip, and lock in tight)

i shoot the same regardless of the grips.

but, the gunners are more abrasive. these need some sanding before i could carry them daily.

is the buffalo too "decorative" for a duty gun, you think? i cant decide. its pretty subdued in person, but its still a picture. a very cool one, but not sure if its appropriate for official use.

PG emailed me and told me to ask which grips best match your shoes and purse.

Rat-30 Thanks The one in your pics are outstanding, those are the blue scuplted ones you mentioned?

I've been thinking about sanding down my Snake grips. The pattern is too aggressive and doesn't show the snake off very well.

Now I have confidence this will ROCK!
