HOGfather????????

12 inch blade, .35 stock, high saber grind with fuller , Res C. Yes please.

Wasn't the Alpha Dog supposed to be a series ? Thought I read that somewhere.

Maybe there will be a Alpha Dog Father 12 with a regulator handle.. one can hope.

Cmon everybody. I thought this was a great idea!!! Is this all the support I’ve got?
I like the idea, but not the cost that would be associated with it! I've mostly stopped buying big knives just for the sake of them being "awesome", I need them to be something useful and practical. I've got so many knives just sitting in a safe that I will never use, it's sad :(

Why is there no more SR77?

SR77 just went on a Ganzaaa last night.

I was just gonna say I made that post quoting someone else that SR77 was dead then a few minutes later I saw in my email that they put out that SawManDu in SR77. I read in someone’s post that the mountainmandu was the end of SR77 but don’t recall where that was and have no idea how factual it was.

As far as the HOGfather’s lack of practicality I agree to an extent, except.... they put out new big knives all the time. It would be just as practical as any other big ole’ slab of INFI they come out with, and I’m sure more affordable than a similar sized knife with micarta or G10 scales.
I’m biased though. I’m very partial to the dogfather. It was my first busse/kin and it would absolutely be the last to go if I had to sell some or all of them.

If I’m not mistaken (and I might be) this new knife is identical to the mountainmandu with some saw teeth in the back, right? My email said it was a very limited run. Maybe they just made a few out of some unfinished mountainmandu blanks from that most recent run of them.

I get it, it's cool and fun and awesome because it's a big ole slab of infi, but just saying for me, I'm not into buying knives that aren't practical anymore. I love my B11, so unless it's better than that, it would be a no go for me .

Yeah. Tough to beat a B11. Long enough to chop yet light enough to be nimble. And of course even though it doesn’t look as cool, IMO res-c is a FAR superior handle to any scales.

Good luck to you. I’ve been pitching the following idea for years:

ASH1 blade coupled with the TAC handle. The perfect Busse name?

The Heart-A-TAC.
