HOGFSH VS NMFSH which one and why? a picture request.

I just purchased Dino's HOGFSH so my vote is for the HOG over the NMFSH but then I'm probably biased at this point!!
 
The nmfsh is the best big knife to come out in my opinion. Unbelievably lively in the hand. The PERFECT balance makes it feel so much lighter than it is. But Tierraventura, if you are looking for a dedicated chopper the ultimate is the nmfbm.
 
Just reviving this old thread, I´d like to ask for a picture-comparo betwen both of them...

...if any of the more seasoned hogs, can give us a hand with a couple pictures, side to side, and specially both from the top...It´ll be much appreciated.

I do not have a NMFSH yet but I have only one thing to say about my HOGFSH, "you can prye it from my cold dead hands" Charlton Heston said it best but you get the point. For now I will just use my FBM-LE or NMFBM or FFBM etc etc.:p
 
I'll do the pics tomorrow while I still have my loaner. I'll always have my HOGFSH though.
 
Got the pics! Side by side, not much difference honestly. But in the hand they are much different in the scales mostly. The old school scales are blocky and sharp, the new generation are much more round and not at all sharp, I'd say a step in the right direction. :) The edges of the two are interesting as well, a rough V edge on the old one and a nice smooth convex on the new one. Another improvement. :D

Overall I love the improvements on the NM version, but I still like my HOG better. But, my SHe is still king. ;)

Thank you! The wife did that and she is mighty proud of it. :D She's done similar guards out of leather thong as well and it was awesome! I am getting one or three made as soon as I find the right stuff.

Great forum this is...Thanks....Did I change my mind?...well, I still like the NMFSH, but I had abandoned the idea of getting me a HOG...

I was one busse away from completing my collection...after your pics...Two away.

The HOGFSH is out there, not many in satin, but they are out there. My HOG is a keeper for sure, but its a close second to my SHe and SHSHII, which hold equal status in my collection.

Never lose hope, I never thought eleven years ago I'd end up owning most of my grail Busse's and passing them on to very deserving piglets. Nothing beats the feeling of passing on a grail knife to someone who has been after one for a while. :D

I remember the first time I saw a busse, a few years ago...and I remember thinking...That is so extravagant, (in the sense that they excel on everything), that I doubt I´d even saw one in person!!!... and I also remeber thinking...."I wish I´d earn enough money to own an Extrema Ratio"...a few years later and a lot of water under the bridge, I own a few, I´m writing this with my NMFSH.DC right next to me...and what causes a lot more pride for me...I know, a few meters away there is my BOB with my trust worthy companion, my ER Fulcrum in it...who´s been my horns , claws and fangs for a few years...that one has seen some serious action not in my current job, but in my last-more-active-one...wow...some 10yrs down the road... another beer to that...(I started a couple hours ago on skype talking to the family..LOL)...good night fellas it´s bed time to me now...after I finish this one... and yes, I couldn´t agree with you more LEATHERMAN, I´d love to get a loved HOG, and eventually pass on my extremely limited collection to somebody who appreciates it...(I have no descendants, and to this day, I doubt I´ll ever will).

Ah! Extrema Ratio puts out some wild knives for sure, I've admired them for years. Still want an RAO folder in the worst way. :)

My daughter will end up with my keepers, not like I'll, or she, will ever wear them out. :D

Double Cut NMFSH, drool worthy! My favorite finish by far.
 
Already have the HOGFSH, and it feels sturdy enough to hack apart an automobile! May get the NMFSH at some point...Steel Hearts - "Collect Them All!!!"
 
:thumbup: all this talk about the NMFSH being so good makes the wait for mine even harder! i guess its two weeks :D
