We need more of these GTG around the country. They are a lot of fun, and let people connect in the real world. There are or have been GTGs in VA, SF Bay area, AZ, UT, WA, and OH. Apologies if I missed any. The community could use more folk to step up and organize a local GTG.

We try to have two events each year here in NE Ohio. One is a GTG out in the woods where people can actually use the knives chopping and splitting wood. It's a good opportunity for fans to try out blades before they buy. The other is a lunch GTG. I was able to find a local restaurant that will let us come in and have a Show and Tell session with knives on display before the place opens to the public for lunch. We were fortunate enough to have Garth and Amy join us once for lunch.

Hindsight has never come to our events. Maybe next time.

bumping this. Anyone else in on this yet?? I can't wait to spend a few days in the woods.
 
Ill be going through and PM'ing or emailing each person who expressed interest to see if they are for sure in. I have also posted this on the swamp rat rat chat forum as well, but its a little group over there.

Hopefully we get the 7 minimum at least, Ill be there even if its just me you and Jody. But the more the merrier!!!

I know it might be upsetting to have payed for the group site if we end up not needing that much room, since i started this idea let me know and i'll reimburse you the cost, Ill have to wait for my payday, but id happily pay you back for it.
 
I am not at all concerned about the money. Just trying to get an idea of who is coming. If there is an opening I am going to see if my nephew wants to come.
 
Unfortunately my time constraints will be too tight on that Saturday to swing by :grumpy:

If anyone close to south central PA would wanna get together for a meet and greet sometime Id really love to meet some fellow knife nuts and compare blades.
 
Zymologoist Im in philadelphia, I could hang out on most any weekend if your close to this area, but there is no place to play with knives near where I live.

We need to find a PA member with a yard in the woods LMAO
 
I would say I hope you guys have a great time, but with Jody going I know that you guys will find some sort of trouble to get into. :foot: Have fun guys :cool:

Yes sir we do I live about 2 hours west of Philly. I have a 1 acre lot in my development which runs along a small woodline so theres dead fall that can be gathered and I heat with wood so I always have logs to chop and play with as well as being a carpenter I have lots of scrap 2x4s etc to destroy :D

I wouldn't have a problem hosting a get together in the future just would have to run it by the wife and plan things.

BUT HMMM... Im pretty sure Jerry is a real hog... And im quite certain he mixes with rodents LMAO

And there is nothing low class about SR101, i have done plenty of my own test with multiple steels and not many can hold an edge like SR101, or properly heat treated 52100 for that matter vice/versa

SO get your butt here, if your in the area and can make it :D We can do an edge retention test, Your Busse VS my chopweiler and see how you fare :D

Its all one family, and havent you ever noticed the lower class have all the fun :D

I don't think I'm going to make this one. Too much time out of the office makes for a cranky boss.
 
1 more week left guys! Hope some more of you are making arrangements to come, it would be great if we had a nice turn out.

I cant wait to meet some more knife nuts! The excitement will make for a long week for me LOL :)
