Hogs Moving To Instagram?

This hog is too old to move much, so as long as I get enough INFI at the trough (BladeForums), I will just hang around here. ;):D

Thanks for the great photos!

Meh, I don't like to jump around too much; so if we can get it done here on BladeForums, why not?

Im just curious if Instagram is Supplemental to BF or is it eventually gona be instead of BF. Personally I usually dont like change, so as long as We still gona be in the loop here with New Releases and stuff, im good lol

I'm not jumping around either. My social internet foot print is rather limited. Here ( bladeforum ) a car forum, detail forum and email lol. Not signing up to follow anything else. Hope it all stays right here on BF

Despite not liking social media very much, I like Instagram quite a bit. It's all pictures. TONS of people posting glorious pictures of knives. I don't think it will ever replace a forum for discussion, but it's great to be able to quickly look through a lot of pics. I don't like Facebook, but I have a dummy account just to look at knives and gear. Busse is responsible for originally getting me into knives, but I have really gotten into custom knives in the last couple years, and many custom knife makers only have a presence on IG or FB; therefore they are pretty much mandatory apps in that regard IMO.

Same here. I absolutely refuse to engage in any of that stuff. This is my extent of social media. (And a local gun trader)
No InstaTweetFace for Zombieassassin.
Ever.

CPK is up on IG now. I don't see a reason why Busse shouldn't. The best platform for eye candy, IMO...

I had to purge about 50 users along the lines of "customknifedeals" "knifecrazy" "knifeforyou" "knifeninja" which were all russian hackers posing as instagram users. All of the profiles say "click to get 10% from our store". I was also mobbed by scantily clad young women. Too good to be true. It's a trap.

I like it here on BF better...

But follow me if you want @tigerclawfx

Bladeforums and Youtube are the extent of my social media. It's just to much crap. Hey MtnMan, Thats quite the big boy toy!!! Have you ever driven a Front end loader that pivots in the middle? Those suckers are Gnarly.

Dem Mosiers tho... :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Funny about that though...was a HOG here that turned me on to David's knives. I'll always be grateful to him for that.

...But the trend is definitely visual, and IG & FB are good for exposure. Can't fault Busse for keepin' up. :) I used to rail against FB/IG. Still not a total fan, but I see the advantages better now...

I'd say you pretty much nailed it on the head....IG is fun, and also enabling when it comes to certain makers, but it's too picture based to ever replace the depth of information and connection that comes from a forum.

@hookahabib on IG ...see you there guys

Some of the makers like Dalibor, Keffeler, Lightfoot, etc have a presence on IG vs other sites.
I happened upon a bunch of new makers after joining IG to get a peek at the custom rifle I was having done and they posted pics up there to show it off.
I think that it is a good move for Busse to make an appearance there and on FB since the knife community on IG is huge and it will allow more people to be be closed through them just based on their "likes" on knife photos.
The only constant in life is change. The more we fight it, the more it will beat us down. A company who doesn't realize this and doesn't take advantage of change only hurts itself.
