Hogs Moving To Instagram?

I find comfort in reading I'm not the only one in the Anti-SM column- thought maybe I was becoming a grumpy old 'terd. I will never have a twit account, but hey, more power to the twits if that makes them happy- I have FB for my family as we're spread out. I read it maybe 1-2 times every month or two but mostly to check out how who got hot and who got fat and who died and who got divorced. After 10 minutes it's all the same-
I think it's wise if you're in business or have a product to market, actually it's irresponsible not to because your giving up potential sales or a person here and there that's never heard of you before.
I've lived close to the Infi birthing ward for 20+ years *It's actually a Nuclear Fusion Reactor but don't tell anyone* and I've looked at their website over the years with hardly ever anything to buy, always sold out, not taking orders or 18month wait~ So finally put the effort into finding out more and discovering this was the place- If IG helps them find the next people "like me" out there, super! They can get in line behind me because I've got spot #way the hell back in the back for now :D

I remember when some customers 15 or so years ago wanted a printed catalog of my sheaths and holsters.
I would tell them of my web site and of Blade forums.

I got a lot of "Meh, that internet is not for me !!! I will never use a computer or e-mail !! " back then, we on the forums were the weird ones :)
Dang kids and their rock music ;)

I am still reserved about the info I put on Facebook and Instagram but it has brought me several new friends and to me the people are the best part of this whole experience .
The knives are pretty cool too.

The only constant in life is change. The more we fight it, the more it will beat us down. A company who doesn't realize this and doesn't take advantage of change only hurts itself.

I don't post any pics on instagram. I use it as a means to see what's happening with my favorite firearm, knives and gear manufacturers.

Ins allows you to browse pictures quickly. You can also chat instantly. Feel convenient. It's not as complicated as bbs. In our country, people like to use WeChat.

I ONLY post knife pix on IG. :D

Didn't know Busse had taken the plunge.
And, I see the same down side too. The Scammers/porn girls subscribing to my feed and sending me junk DM's. Not a huge deal, I just delete the DM's them and block them.

If Busses instagram will be so to say unlocked ? and I can view without signing up. I guess once in awhile I'd look there. But I really really do not want to sign up there.
I would think by being on here and being signed up for the Busse news letter. Those would get updates first before IG or FB.
Just my .02 worth

I see this is now a sticky up top of forum

You would

You would think that, but the only official announcement for the re release of the BGAK47 I saw was on IG,, never saw it here.
Also there was a contest for shop credit on IG that didn't find its way here

I don't want to sign up for Instagram, I'll still be around here, maybe if I can browse Instagram without an accoount that would be okay.

I recall some time back there was a Ganzaa which pitted the BF against FB to see which MEDIA reached the largest audience and the results were BF had the higher number in sales. Seems like they are going to try another avenue...I'll pass cuz I don't see a need to sign up for a Picture Gallery.

I believe it was actually FB that won and not BF. I remember it annoying me because I wanted BF to win.

Despite not liking social media very much, I like Instagram quite a bit. It's all pictures. TONS of people posting glorious pictures of knives. I don't think it will ever replace a forum for discussion, but it's great to be able to quickly look through a lot of pics. I don't like Facebook, but I have a dummy account just to look at knives and gear. Busse is responsible for originally getting me into knives, but I have really gotten into custom knives in the last couple years, and many custom knife makers only have a presence on IG or FB; therefore they are pretty much mandatory apps in that regard IMO.

Speaking of pics, this one will never get old. That Chaves with the purple hardware is absolutely gorgeous!
But back to the original topic. I would think Busse on IG is "in addition to", not "instead of" BF.
